however if they loose more games then yeah at that point I'll have 2 agree that this season is in the tank

but as far as this game is concerned the rams have been on a big loosing streak and they were hungry (real hungry) for a win
we just happened to be the team that was in the way of that W

it's not like we didn't play well
yes I know they made mistakes and the D didn't get the chance to catch there breaths
but I look at this as a test for us
yes the rams controlled the game for the most part but we still hung in there
that in it self says a lot about this team cause at the start of this season when another team controlled the tempo of a game the loss came with a huge margin

yes the Rams were on an 8 game loosing streak but they didn't loose all of the games by a huge of a margin so that tells me that they can't be that pore of a teem
truthfully, I think they simply underestimated them

if the saints can take a game like this an learn what went wrong and improve on that as they have been improving on many other things then they will be just fine

Re: the sad thing about this season is....

C'mon man.....we should have been just as hungry, i dont care what the record is. dont gimme that. Im sure the Rams were pretty hungry their first 7 games too, but everyone beat them. I really think we didnt play well. Not only did we play poorly, we didnt scheme well. I saw very few players having a strong game and caring about it. Seriously, St. Louis put up 37 points on us. Thats the most theyve scored all season. Cleveland and Arizona held them to less.

And yes, they lost many of those games by a big margin. Carolina beat them 27-13, Dallas beat them 35-7, Tampa beat them 24-3, Baltimore beat them 22-3, Seattle beat them 33-6. I hate bringing stats into this, but cmon, dont kid yourself. Only 2 of their loses were by 3 points or less. Gimme a break. This says more about our team than any game so far this season. Im not picking on the DeadmaN, and yes, the Saints can learn from this. But we are out of time for school lessons. Its past midseason, we have no room for live and learn. Not with the 0-4 start we had. If our record was 7-2 or 6-3, then fine, we rested some key guys, and looked past St. Louis. But the fact is we were barely at .500, comin of some momentum from 4 straight wins, at home, and we still couldnt beat an 0-8 that got their BLEEPs handed to them by teams we have beaten.....we should know the meaning of hungry more than anyone, but i guess not....

is this all really happening????

Yes we made some good plays, but we cant make more good plays than an 0-8 team????

Cmon, ive tried being as optimistic as most, defending when everyone wanted to jump ship, but geez. This game would have put us in a tie with Idle Tampa Bay, AND Carolina lost, so we could have gotten some seperation from them. This was prolly one of the most important games to win, and we couldnt, against an 0-8 team????
You bring up a great point! Great/Good teams beat teams that they are suppose to beat. Although you can never underestimate your opponets even if they are 0-8, you need to prepare as if they were 8-0. The Rams maybe were 0-8 but they are a very dangerous team capable of scoring a lot of points with a pretty big lines on both sides of the ball.

Going into the season I picked the Rams to make it to the playoffs, even though their record was 0-8 going into the Saints game I felt they could give us a hard time but in the end I thought the Saints would pull it out, I was wrong, what can I say?
The Rams are a good team but just never could gel as a team until yesterday.

...funny thing about beating teams you are supposed to beat: there's only one team in NFL history that's gone undefeated...

Re: the sad thing about this season is....

I am with you papz. 9-7 is real. I think the B&G family has taken the rams record as an indicator how bad they are, They are not a bad team. They are just getting healthy and will not end the season with one win. I would not be surprised to see them finish the year as one of the hottest teams in the NFL. As long as the injury bug is over they are a good offensive team. Now defensively we played into their hands in the first half. The second half was different story. Definitely not a solid showing but not the worst of the year.

:whodat: here to you man
