Trufaunt not getting tagged?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Asante Samuel gets toasted all the time. The only reason we're even discussing him is because he gambles so much that he's bound to get picks sooner or later. He's Jason David with hands....

Just think we coulda drafted him instead of Sullivan,,,,,,,,,,so if we can get Trufant now that in some way might make up for the draft blunder.

Harrrison's saved him multiple times? That's amazing considering that Samuel always have the duty of lining up against the opposing teams best wr. I also find if funny that apparently Harrison has suddenly reverted back to 7 years ago and is now again, a ball hawking S. Harrison was let go from SD because lack of speed and all the hype that he lost a step in the passing game YET now he's Samuel's safety net? Funny, just funny. Harrison is a stop the run first S over a ball hawking S. That is for sure. By the way, isn't Harrison a SS NOT a FS? Just asking.
You are right on the deep passes. But not on the short and mid range passes. Knowing Harrison is there for the tackle allows him to go for the interception. He gambles all the time knowing he is there. He gambled on the first NYG TD and went for the INT instead of the breakup. I do not blame him but that is his style. Harrison is his sure tackling safety net on the mid range passes. sammuel has said it more than once himself.

I've always liked Trufant- we should have taken him in 2003 instead of that worthless tub of ------ Sullivan

Re: Trufaunt not getting tagged?

I would take either corner IF we can get them. But I would like to see multiple improvements on the defence especially in the secondary.
