I think the organization is putting to much responsibility on the draft. We will need a center, right guard, tight end, 2 CB's, QB, FS, DT and possibly a DE.

We won't be able to fill all of the holes we need to in the draft. We already have 49 of 58 roster spots accounted for with all of our signings to date. The window opportunity is closing boys and girls and we weren't even ready for it.

He went to 4 different schools in high school and didn't even play football till his senior year, which is why he had to go to Tenn State. Nonetheless the guy is a freak of nature. He reminds me so much of his cousin.. who happen to lead the NFL in INT's.. except I believe he is even more talented and he has no injury problems whatsoever coming into the draft.


What could attract NFL clubs to Rodgers-Cromartie beyond his cornerback abilities is his special teams skills.
Rodgers-Cromartie averaged 24.4 yards on kickoff returns. He also blocked 8 kicks on special teams!

In 39 starts for the Tigers, opposing quarterbacks completed just 55 of 161 passes (34.16%) thrown in Rodgers-Cromartie's immediate area. He intercepted 11 of those throws, deflected 25 and held the opposition to a miniscule 3.54 yards per pass attempt, the best of any collegiate defensive back over the last three seasons.

I couldn't agree with you more. He has the size, speed, and play making skillz far above the others.. Flowers may be the most physical but that also can be a dangerous thing.. plus he benefits from playing in a great defensive scheme.
DRC is highly lock down and his upside is so tremendous I honestly believe he is worthy of the top 10 pick. (The Patriots are seriously looking at him at pick 7).

He reminds me so much of his cousin (who lead all the NFL in ints this past season) Except he has more tools/talent in my opinion. When they run int's back they look IDENTICAL. Also, a lot of people were shocked when the chargers selected Cromartie in the first round and now look at how he turned out..

This guy is the number one sleeper.. I'm not big on drafting corners.. but this guy is a freak of nature.. to think he didn't even start playing football until his senior year of HS..

If this was any other year, I think that I would be in complete agreement about this guy. He sounds like he has all of the athletic ability in the world. However, here's my concern about taking this guy at #10:

If he just started playing football as a senior in high school, and went to Tennessee State, the guy is probably pretty raw. Any other year that'd be fine, because he could come in and maybe rotate in and out of the starting rotation and get some experience and get coached up. But this year is different. Our cornerbacks are so bad (especially with MM out for the first part of the season), that we have to get somebody who can come in and start right away. Maybe he can, but I saw last year how much Usama struggled making the jump from whatever DI-AA school he came from to the NFL. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my worry about such a thing.

He'll be raw, but man-oh-man that kid is the real deal. I don't care if we gotta coach him up for a season.

Hey BeauC, welcome to the board and great posts and video. :cool:

I'm with you on 'Cro-Mart' (and have been since b4 the Senior Bowl). Hagan made a good point on the depth of this year's CB crop and I have to agree. With that being said, I hope to see us continue to sign impact FA's and address our front seven in the first round. Then, if he's there in the second I say go after him. :phat:

I have been wanting Rivers since January.. but after seeing the Cromartie kid blowout I just think he's going to be better than his cousin.. He has freakish Randy Moss like abilities on defense. Don't be suprised if the Pats take him first round ahead of us.. We shall see how everything unfolds.. I wish there was a way we could get him and Rivers..

6'2" and only 180lbs??? The guys a stick and an injury waiting to happen.

No way he holds up to the NFL! He will have trouble tackling and staying healthy. He will need 2 years to bulk up. Put me down with another CB that's more ready to start.

What good is speed if you can't stay on the field?
