Not what I expected to see

After reading the articles and hearing lots of praise coming out of saints camp about how well the saints were doing in camp I expected more from tonights game.

No, I did not expect to see a fine tuned machine go out there and play, but i did expect to see a much more gut effort than what I saw.

Positive of what I saw were the def. plugged the middle and stopped the run there, 2. Michael lewis makes the other returners look like they are jogging, 3. QB is a strong point across the board (Aaron was still smiling too much for the effort I saw out of the team).

The negatives: amatuerish tackleing, Def could not stop stetch the corners on the outside run, Def backs were toast all night, Receivers dropped too many balls, no run game, Gandy was a holding fool, coaches did not have players ready to play a football game.

The young players who I thought had more game showed little. Gardner and kelly look like 7th round picks, Elpheneage can't cover anything. Couldn't see much about Sullivans play ... must not have been close to the ball much.

It was the first preseason game but it did not look like their was any pressure put on the players to play good football. It appeared the saints main goal was to get out of the game with no injuries. I thought the saints were playing at about 3/4 speed the whole game. Looks like they pretty much know the final roster already.
