Re: Saints Can't Pick Defensive Players
I agree that we suck at drafting defensive players, but... did you seriously refer to Will Smith as a "mediocre starter"?!?!?! The guy went to a Pro Bowl two seasons ago. Come on

Usama Young - backup
I like what I saw out of him last year. Small school kid that needs time. That is why I sit here and wonder why everyone is so hyped over small school CB when Young is a good example of what the learning curve is for them. Carlson is the kid that can step in and play right away. same goes fot Talbid. But talbid is a FS whaiting for the chance to shine. |

Kinda depressing, isn't it? When listed like that, it sure seems depressing. I still have hopes for Young though, and I agree that Will Smith is much better than mediocre. If we don't give him a new contract - just watch and see home many teams will be beating on our door to get him.

A lot of LB's on that list. Five out of six picks are still playing though. Mora had a great defense, not built through the draft, but through his WFL players.

Well the reason their not on the team is because they are not good enough to make the Saints. Imagine that. Pretty bad by anybodies account.

Re: Saints Can't Pick Defensive Players
Here's a brilliant idea - instead of drafting anymore D players, lets' just trade our picks to other teams, picking up THEIR drafted players. They all seem to do better than us anyway.
40+ years of sucking in the draft (albeit with a few exceptions) has gotten old. |
