News flash, our defense is TERRIBLE, 30th ranked passing D, well I guess they wasnt last, so lets draft a RB and keep five of them. No thanks we need D.If you draft a RB that is the position you can find a gem the most in the late rounds.

give them a little bit of credit, they played amazing for what they had (overweight Dlinemen, system cornerback, mediocre LBs etc.)

we already have decent CBs ready to start this season, they'll get even better if MM comes back close to full strength for our playoffs push. LBs are pretty much set once we draft a LB in the first 3 rounds. our Dlinemen hopefully will get in shape, if they're ineffective we have mccray to come in.

If we dont get some DT's that can take on some lineman we might as well have Simoneau back there, cause Vilma will only be great if they can keep the O-lineman off of Him....We need to improve at DT and the secondary first and then worry about O.

Forte is no Mendenhall.. but I profer jONATHAN stewart 2nd round.. as a thunder to reggie's lightening..

You all think its crazy to draft a rb.. but what about when ditka traded away every single pick for ricky williams.. and then 2 years later drafted Deuce in the first round..

I wouldn't be too upset with the pick because I do think Mendenhall will be an excellent RB. I think it will upset alot of fans when we have to get rid of Deuce as a result of the pick, because he is definitely a fan favorite. I am one of the people that thinks Deuce may be done.

My only criticism of this pick is that RB is a deep position in the draft, which could easily be addressed in later rounds. But then again so is CB and LB. There is no way we passup either of the two DTs but if neither is available at 10 we could definitely go this route. Just look on the bright side. At least we cant have a more unproductive first round draft pick than last year.

I know Haslett drafed Deuce.. That has nothing to do with the saints organization as a whole.. Regardless of coach the saints drafted 2 rbs in the first round within 3 years.. they took deuce while they still had ricky..

yes and up to that point, ricky really hadnt performed up to his ability and a whole new regime was at the helm of the franchise.. haz was the coach, randy mueller was our new gm and they were making the choices based on best player available.. not on need.. which we should do now, even if that player is on offense

i agree! but i just think DRC is the most freakish player in the draft.. regardless of need.. i want him.. and i don't think 10th is a reach.. but hey thats just me. we shall see how it all unfolds.. the draft is still an eternity away..
