What would you do? Mock Draft

The real key is not what you would do but what will the Saints do.

If Dallas isn't going to trade with us, other likely trading partners may be Carolina or Arizona. Both are looking hard at Mendenhall and most mock drafts have him going there.

Assuming a trade is not possible, I think the Saints REPLACE DEUCE with Mendenhall. This may not be popular now but look at my avatar and the picture becomes clear. Loosing Duece and replacing him with Stecker makes Reggie Bush less effective. Putting Reggie Bush as your starting tailback is less effective. Pierre Thomas showed promise, but do you think Payton really wants to put his job on the line with him as your starting tailback? Remember, this is Payton's 3rd year and his butt is on the line. The honeymoon is over. True we can get a RB later in the draft, but the best player on the board that can HELP THE SAINTS WIN RIGHT AWAY will be in Payton's eyes, Mendenhall.

And I can't find any fault with the coach's logic with that pick.
I for one like having the best offense in the league!
We can be the best on one side of the football and pretty good on the other.
Keep signing Free Agents on defense. Draft 2 & 3 for defense and get us another star on offense. Sorry Duece.
