Quote from above: \" Personally I do not beleive HAZ is a great coach. I do think he is a serviceable head coach but not one who gives his team an edge by him being on the sidelines. Careful with this one! Who do YOU think is a \"great coach\" Parcells, Walsh, Landry??? When you answer that question I will ask you if they were \"great coaches\" in their third or fourth year or did it take many more years to become \"a great coach\". No coach comes in and takes over a loosing team and within three years has them a superbowl ring. Gruden will probably be named as a response to that statement but in all honesty he came to a team that was already in place and had a winning record BEFORE he got there. Same can be said for Switzer..all he did was took Jimmy\'s team to another superbowl before he screwed it up. Give Haz time to either climb the latter or fall off the latter. I think 5 years is about right to judge what is what or will be as long as we keep going in the right direction. |

No, they don\'t want to hear about no history of past coaches. This directly goes against what they are trying to prove. They want to point out the exeception to the rule. They don\'t want to admit that even with all the talent on the team that last year was Duece and Stallworth\'s first year as a starter. They don\'t want to admit that last year was on the 2nd year as a starter for Aaron Brooks.
They want to tell you that with all the talent we have it MUST be coaching that is the problem. They don\'t want to be reasonable and give the coaches some time. Nope!! They think with just the right coach and the right scheme that this team would have been much better. They have nothing to base this off of, that\'s just the way they feel. Don\'t go telling them that Parcells took longer to get to the Super Bowl. Don\'t talk about Chuck Noll, or Laundry. Don\'t tell them that not even Jon Gruden didn\'t take the Raiders to the Super Bowl. Because if you do this is what they will say: With all the talent the saints have they shouldn\'t have collapsed the last two years and the only reason for that is poor coaching............RIGHT????????/ |

WOW..where to begin here.
Coaching is VERY important no doubt about that. We actually do have some very good and talented coaches. In fact I will almost guarantee that our offensive coordinator will be a head coach in the near future or atleast have the offer to become one. Truth is we also have talent above and beyond what we have had in \"past years\". Does all of this add up to superbowls? No Why? Because we haven\'t come together as a \"TEAM\". Ever since Haz took over (here we go with the past) he has had to deal with personalities and players from previous coaches (Ditka). It has taken this long (3years) to rid us of our problem children on the team and build what we now have. We are still not by a long shot the \"perfect\" team but UNITY is the only thing I see holding this bunch back from surpassing anything any Saints team has done before. The coaching, talent and fan base is in place. All we really need now is the UNITY from within the team. Where will this come from you ask???? It will come from the PLAYERS themselves....just watch. |

I understand HAZ only has limited amount of experience as head coach and in another 5 years he may be the best head coach out there. Haz and Co. built a damn good football team but now the question is can they coach it.
I never said anything about firing HAZ at this point. I am saying he and his staff is a glaring weak spot on the team right now. The talent is on the field today, the saints can\'t wait 5 more years for the coach to catch up. Jimmy Johnson is the only coach I think of when I see the HAZ situation today. When JJ went to Dallas the cowgirls were decimated with talent. Thanks to the hershal walker trade they brought in some good talent and once the talent was on the team they were ready to win. That took how many years? The tampa situation is a classic example of what i fell the saints will be going through with HAZ. Dungy built the team but could not get them over the hump. Dungy may now be able to take Indy farther but for whatever reason he could not get it done in tampa. Who would I like to see coach the saints? Honestly I have no idea at this point because I am dealing with what the saints have right now. |
