If JD can get a ring and we have him then what can we do to better use him... get pressure to help a man out. |

Re: Who Do You Take?
I get it, you don't have to keep repeating the same thing you've been saying for months now. But how do you propose that we "get more pressure?" I've already said that we need to take Ellis or Dorsey if they're there. But if not, what are you going to do? You can't draft a DE. Drafting another LB isn't going to help with pressure, even though I'd love to see us get Rivers.
And I'd love to take up your point that it doesn't matter who you have at CB, because it sure as hell matters. Yes, pressure plays a big part in how effective they can be in coverage, but if you have a terrible CB, you're still going to get burned no matter how good the pass rush. There were so many times this season where David bit on a simple head fake and was completely toasted. Doesn't matter how much pressure we had on the QB, all he had to do was hit a wide open receiver. It's all about balance Euph. You need to get a good pass rush, but you can't completely ignore the cornerback situation. A good pass rush helps out the corners, but the cornerback still has to cover the wide receiver. If Ellis isn't there, take a good corner. |

Re: Who Do You Take?
again are you reading what I am saying???
I think you are just trying to ruffle my feathers now. What did i say in an earlier post to this thread??? There are other areas we can address to help us out. Nothing wrong with going WR if we can get a number one in a position instead of a 3 or 4th best at a position. Now you just want to take things out of context and creat something that isn't there. Fact is David got a ring so what are we not doing... pressure. |

Re: Who Do You Take?
Yeah I'm reading what you're saying and it's a bunch of stubborn crap. "We need pressure." I agree with you. Again, what do you want us to do about it? If not drafting Ellis, what do we do? You still haven't answered that question.
And again, yes David won a ring, but he was in a Cover 2 scheme. Completely different situation. He couldn't get beat deep because he was always in his zone. Nowadays he's liable for the deep ball, and he can't stop it. We need somebody who can. By the way, I have no idea what you just said about a WR. |

Made me sick last year we couldn't get pressure on the QB to help even our best CB (MM). We suck at pass rushing, the numbers speak for themselves... and Jason David has a ring. Oh no... just realize does Gay have a ring as well 2004. So we have all these CB's who played in big games and we are exposed because what they had when they got their rings was PRESSURE. Come on guys this is to easy. |

Re: Who Do You Take?
You can't just say that Gay and David have rings because of pressure, that's just oversimplifying the game and missing out on the fact that they were on really good teams.
And I'm not saying CB CB CB... I'm saying we need a DT, but if we can't get one, we take a CB or a LB. CB is still a position of need. With MM out, we don't have a starting quality CB on the roster. Try to deny that. |

Re: Who Do You Take?
What the hell are you arguing with me for then, geez dude we agree!
But you are adding something into the equation about MM but then I pose... what would we do without Brees... then I'd say we need a QB over a CB. |
