Re: Who Do You Take?
I say with what is left I would take Mendenhall, cut Stecker and let it be known the competition for starting RB is now open. After getting down to the 4th string last year having quality depth in the backfield is a necessity. Sitting with Bush, PT and Mendenhall will give the coaches a good idea where we are heading after Deuce gives us one last year.
Really is a nice collection of offensive talent that Payton has put together in 2 years. Really curious if Brees can stay upright all year how many passes he throws this year. |

And we can now trade Stinchcomb who is in the final year of his contract, move Jamal Brown back to RT where he is more comfortable and plug Clady in immediately at LT. I think Stichy's value would be about a 4th rounder or so. Or we could use him for a trade for someone like Fabian Washington. I know Oakland has a weak offensive line so it might work. ![]()
My problem with the Jenkins pick is that he is not as sure of a thing as an OT. None of the CBs in this years draft are. A good one will fall to #40 where we can get him. I'm thinking Brandon Flowers. I have no problem with the Mendenhall pick other than I don;t think it is as much of a need position. I honestly think that if given the chance Pierre Thomas can be a good RB. He has done nothing but look good every time we play him. Feel free to vent some more Missile, but I stand by my choice if this is how the draft shapes up. |
