Re: Who Do You Take?
I get it, you don't have to keep repeating the same thing you've been saying for months now. But how do you propose that we "get more pressure?" I've already said that we need to take Ellis or Dorsey if they're there. But if not, what are you going to do? You can't draft a DE. Drafting another LB isn't going to help with pressure, even though I'd love to see us get Rivers.
And I'd love to take up your point that it doesn't matter who you have at CB, because it sure as hell matters. Yes, pressure plays a big part in how effective they can be in coverage, but if you have a terrible CB, you're still going to get burned no matter how good the pass rush. There were so many times this season where David bit on a simple head fake and was completely toasted. Doesn't matter how much pressure we had on the QB, all he had to do was hit a wide open receiver. It's all about balance Euph. You need to get a good pass rush, but you can't completely ignore the cornerback situation. A good pass rush helps out the corners, but the cornerback still has to cover the wide receiver. If Ellis isn't there, take a good corner. |
