But even though I cried when it happened (last time I could remember crying actually, about anything), I was glad to see Archie leave so he'd stop taking some of the beatings (special place in Hell for John Mecom) he'd taking over the years...

Deuce has been a team player, community leader, and remarkable player; but even so, a NFL RB, especially with the injuries he's sustained, can perform at an effective level so far; bad luck, yeah, but so happened to Archie as well, that doesn't mean I don't love the guy for what he's done for Saints Fans and New Orleans as well...

The soap box is breaking under the weight of my fat ass, so I'll get off now...don't confuse objectivity with passion...
Good speech. Corrections are needed though. Archie was screwed over in the Houston deal. He took a pounding there too. Yes Mecon does have a special place in hell for this one. Pitch fork testing dummy.

Duce is and always will be a measuring stick for New Orleans RB and a quality person on and off the field.

But remember one thing it is never a bad deal to have too many many good RB. You can always trade one. As for the pick at #10 I am not solid on him and the contract he would get.

Re: Saints Running Backs

I think Bundy's correct. Love that show.

Here's our current RB situation:

Deuce - Coming off surgery. Getting up there in age. Injury prone.
Stecker - Old. Durable. Don't want him carrying the load.
Bush - Better used as other than the primary back. He's never done it.
Thomas - UDFA - Wildcard. Can he hold up for a whole season??? Gee I HOPE he's the real deal.

AND YOU GUYS ARE COMFORTABLE AT RB????
NOT FOR A 19 GAME SEASON, HUH?

Deuce should retire.
Bush needs to be used as hybrid player to best utilize his talents.
Stecker needs to go back to playing only special teams.
Thomas needs to compete for backup and be GOOD INSURANCE.

We need to draft Deuce’s replacement and he better be JUST AS GOOD AS DEUCE!
