Re: sounds like lito will want more money....
the problem with Sheppard is this:
Should Sheppard stick around in 2008, the presence of two durable starting corners, in Brown and Samuel, might free the coaching staff to use Sheppard, fragile as he is, as the primary punt returner the good thing is this Sheppard wasn't himself for the vast majority of the Eagles' frustrating 8-8 campaign in 2007, but he did remind everyone of his top-end form in Week 15 in Dallas. That's when he limited former Eagle and 2008 All-Pro wide receiver Terrell Owens to just two catches for 37 yards and earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the third time in his career. His point is this Back in 2004, he signed an eight-year, $24.3 million contract with $8.7 million coming by way of a signing bonus. Since then, free-agent corners at or even below Sheppard's caliber have signed bigger deals. Why the saints should let the Eagles trade him else where and then get the picks from the Eagles If the Eagles do keep Sheppard, however, they need to be prepared to hear him chirp. One of the more free-spoken members of the locker room, Sheppard is one of those to hint at frustration with the front office over money issues. So if we are to get him, you have to admit he under payed. 15.6 million over 8 years. LOL he should have invested that 8.7 million bounse a little better. lets see thats 1.8 million a year. LOL that kills me. Did he shoot his Agent yet? LOL sorry looking at the numbers I have laugh. Trade for him move back and trade for shockey and use the #1 pick on the best CB there. At his salary you could jerk him around for a year and trade him away later for picks in 2009. Better yet trade him this year after the shockey trade and get picks. LOL Seriously, With his history the way it is you need a performance based contract. Sorry history proves he is a nagging injury waiting to happen. 1.8 million average over 8 years? that is down right funny. Take him! His contract belongs in walmart under the blue light specials. Just came to me. NE could do this move. |
