The new orleans saints select....

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; too many trades...i think it sounds good but its not likely that we make one trade in the first round....especially moving down....i see us being aggressive and moving up but moving down will drop the talent level too much us ...

The talent pool in round one this year is vastly over rated. Can you read the signs? No diving in the pool. U will hit bottom.

while i think that most of the players in the 1st round are C+ to B grade players.....i think that the corner position has the highest unseen potential....i believe that the corners in the first round wouldnt sway to low from the B grade....it may be worth the risk

Re: The new orleans saints select....

We need another CB like I need another whole in my head.
Its not going to matter who we have at CB if we can't put pressure on the QB. Go ahead draft a CB in this round and we will be watching other teams in the playoffs and not the Saints - again.

You want a CB - we'll talk about it next offseason.

I am glad to see the numbers are starting to turn though from the begining of the offseason to now and the closer we get to the draft. Everyone preaching CB... I see my message is getting through, lol.

We will be talking about it next offseason because it is the biggest glaring weakness is the saints defense......while u preach blitz and rush...we are still not going to....we will not blitz and that takes away from the presence that dorsey or ellis will bring....since we dont blitz it will put too much pressure on our CBs and without a great compliment to Mike we will struggle again!!!

Thats when you fire the coaches for being frauds... (NFL COACHES).

I take it you haven't read anything I have been preaching nor the articles that have been showing up recenly. It doesn't matter who you have at CB, any WR will get open against and CB in the NFL if you give him enough time. So its a mute point who you have at CB.

GREAT EXAMPLE - JASON DAVID, has a SB ring for playing CB. Now how do you suppose we got a SB CB and he played so poorly for us? PASS RUSH! Colts had one and we don't. So since we have this guy and he's proved he can play in the big dance lets get him what he had in INDY. We got Gay this offseason (no pun intended).

PRESSURE. Our DT are old and not as fast, can't get upfield quick enough, not as explosive. We need to upgrade that position and it will make the LARGEST IMPACT THIS OFFSEASON landing Dorsey or Ellis.

PRESSURE PRESSURE PRESSURE.

You want to compliment MM get him a pass rush, you'll see really how great of a corner he can be. "Hey MM, now look you'll only have 3 seconds or less to cover your WR so anticipate that so you know when to break on the ball better and make more INT's.

It is simple take the BPA according to your board and hope it fills an area on need. depth is the key. Once you have it then you can wheel deal.

I will be perfectly happy getting McKelvin at #10. And trade 2nd pick for Shockey or Sheppard though both are going to cost and Im not a big Shockey fan, attitude-wise. He requires to much attention and doesnt deserve that much.

Re: The new orleans saints select....

I think with all the off season shuffle in D we've made, the team is improved substantially on the Defense.

I still think we could pick up a strong RB in the 1st round and get some O line help as insurance in the later rounds and I feel really, really good about our prospects boys.

But just like Christmas, I'll be happy with whatever we get.

I wish camp would start May 1!!!
