Re: texans take a swipe at reggie......

We need to stop here and think about this.

Everyone gets hung up on Reggie's rushing yards, as in yards gained after hand offs. However, Mr. Shanahan is conveniently omitting Reggie's passing yards.

He is also conveniently omitting that Reggie's passing yards are about 95% yards after the catch, and that the overwhelming majority of passes Reggie catches are screen passes behind the line of scrimmage.

If the hangup is numbers, well, in 2 years Reggie has 1,146+ rushing yards and 1159 receiving yards, which is pretty good on itself, but then he isn't the only one that get fed the ball, since Payton's offense distributes it well to other players.

As for Mario Williams, congrats on his 14 sacks last year. Unfortunately for the Texans, that accounted for 25% of Mario's total tackles for 2007, both solo and assisted.

This is the year. I still have the FAITH in Reggie. Best future RB duo in the league-Thomas-Bush.

I couldn't agree more with Tobias and SFIAH.

As far as Reggie as our every down guy... trouble (IMO).

As far as the quality of that pick: Reggie was instrumental to our making it to the Division Final! Where did Williams get the Texans?

These 2 players are going to be compared the rest of their careers. I don't want to get into a debate on who is better because it has yet to be played out. I don't even know if I would give an edge yet to a player either.

You can argue Reggie has more around him to get him to the NFC game, Colston was a huge part of that as weel.

Head to Head - 'Bush bowl' the edge went to Willimas/Houston.

Reggie is already a great player - right now, as previous posts in this thread have so eloquently pointed out. But he has the potential to be a truly phenomenal player, an incredible player, HOF all the way.

But I think he needs to work on the weights to reach his true potential. Right now, he goes down too easily when someone gets an arm on him. He can't run through tackles - he runs around them, or jumps over them. Fix that, and all this Mario talk will go bye-bye.

eh, idk where u get this from but talk to some linebackers in this leauge and they'll tell u reggie is hard as fuk to tackle.

look @ that atl game last season where u put it on those 2 or 3 falcon safetys/lbs/cbs.

i do agree that he has had a great career so far. those recieving yards are where its at, since those are mostly behind the line of scrimmage check downs and should pretty much be considered rushing yards, except that he isn't trying to run through the defensive line, but whats it matter as long as it works?

to me a rush for 4 yards and a checkdown for 4 yards are the same thing.

on 473 touches between rushes/receptions, he has 2305 yards. thats an average of 4.8 yards every time he touches the ball.

that's pretty good if you ask me. LT averages 4.9 yards in his entire career per reception or rush

i'm satisfied cuz reggie hasn't hit his football ceiling. tons of upside left, he can become even better, but right now i'm satisfied with our #2 pick.

Sorry Ricky, I don't buy that. In the games I've watched, he goes down immediately after contact. He's damn good at avoiding contact, by juking or cutting back, using a stiff arm to push them back, or just jumping right over them. But when someone hits him, he goes down.

What's his weight right now? 195? Do you have any links of LB's quotes saying he's hard to bring down? Sorry man, I just don't buy that. My eyes tell me otherwise.

The fact that he's had little success running up the middle supports that.

can anyone help me id this tune? it goes thwap thwap boom tch boom tch boom tch.

I think he is confusing Reggie with Deuce. reference: Saint vs Philly 2006

If yall want me to take Kardashian off of Reggie's hands, I'll be happy to. For the good of the team, of course.

(if I don't have to listen to her talk...jesus, she's annoying.)
