Re: 3-4...wtf?
we knew we could stop the run because of our solid front 7.....but we were more concerned with the pass and thats where the extra LB comes into play....mccray was doing a great job playing outside and marvin mitchell got a lot of playing time today
however, vilma was happy to be traded to the saints because they ran a 4-3 and he was seriously struggling in a 3-4......his numbers will go way down if we continue this and dont mix it up more |

Re: 3-4...wtf?
That is what is so great about Gregg Williams. A little 43, a little 34, eventually some 46... I love his philosophy, instead of making your players fit a system, design a system(s) to fit your players. IMO we are only seeing the beginning of something special. Williams has a reputation of getting the most out of his players and it's really starting to show. Over the past three weeks there has been very obvious improvements on the defensive side of the ball, and it's getting more unpredictable each week.

Re: 3-4...wtf?
I bet the Jets are saying the same thing "3-4... wtf??"
Keep 'em guessing Greg atta boy! Also note that the Bill's offense scored zero points ... zero. At home, in their house, zero points. |

Re: 3-4...wtf?
I noticed that about the defense, when the Henderson and Hokie talked about it on the radio. But, I just thought about Vilma not doing well in it in NY. I hope they only use it alittle, if he does not play well in it. However, he may play better in it with this team.

Re: 3-4...wtf?
I was surprised to see some 3-4 defense too. I'm really impressed with the way Greg is schemeing out our defense and how we're showing improvement week to week. Sean gave him the game ball afterwards. This could be the beginning of something really special this year.

Re: 3-4...wtf?
Williams did mention he was going to implement the 3-4 during the off season... something I've always wanted to see us do. Pressure, pressure, pressure!

Re: 3-4...wtf?
Was it a true 3-4 or was it simply a nickel using a LB instead of a corner or safety? Was there man coverage when that "scheme" was in use or was it a zone? Where was it used relative to Bills' field position?
Pardon the questions, but the limited time I got to see the choppy feed prevented any satisfaction for the weekend. Sadness is permeating my home... |

Re: 3-4...wtf?
Thought it worked well and allowed us to bring pressure and confused the Bills somewhat on their blocking assignments. 3/4 4/3 who cares as long as we can bring pressure and continue to stop the run I do not care what the alignment is.
