Been wanting to ask a Fin fan for a long time:

Is Tuna totally on board with the Wildcat? If so, was he for it from the beginning?

Reason I ask is, it doesn't seem like something he would like. I think
Tuna would like the power running aspect of it, but not the
"unconventional" aspect.

Good luck! No injuries or bad officiating!

The wildcat is actually the most conventional offense in the league. It's the same theory as what we ran when I coached 5th graders. 11-on-11 football, nothing fancy, just our guys are better than yours. I think someone on here made the point that it's basically a modified wishbone, and that's true.

Of course I don't really know the true answer but my understanding is Parcells is strictly a personal guy, Sparano and his staff do all game planning and play calling. We have a nickname for Parcells, Ireland and Sparano down here, "The Trifecta"

Like you mentioned in your comment, the wildcat is really just a power running play. The bonus is you get an extra blocker and some misdirection at the same time. Generally if you run a power run up the middle the 'D' can just meet the runner at the point but with the misdirection with Ricky sweeping across you can't fully commit all your momentum to the point or Ricky will get the edge on you. With Ronnie's power and quickness to the hole it's already to late by the time the 'D' knows and if he catches a defender standing up instead of coming forward it's over.

We also have a very nasty O-line that gets a big push along with a lead blocking FB (Lou Polite that reminds me of Lorenzo Neil) he punches gapping holes with bone jarring blocks.

The reason we can run the wildcat better then anybody is pretty simple really, Ronnie Brown. He may be the most versatile player in the entire league.

Here I'll put it like this, A lot of teams fans could say well why don't we throw the ball all over for like 400yards and 3-4 TD's a game like the Saints? Well because they don't have Drew Brees just like other teams that try to run the wildcat don't have Ronnie Brown.

Good luck and I'm hoping for no injury's.

I'm not surprised that Tuna kept his thoughts from the press and fans. He never did like talking to them. Fortunately or unfortunately, our coach seems to be emmulating him.

I am really happy for you guys after everything your city has been through you truly deserve a great team. I just hope your one loss comes against us and then I'm pulling for you the rest of the way. Unless of course we both make it to the SB but we are still missing a couple of pieces so I'm not seeing that this year but maybe next.

Anyway on to the game. In all honesty this game is a huge match up problem for us (and every other team in the league) Our secondary is very talented but young and prone to make mistakes. If our running game can't keep you off the field this could be a long day for us FinFans.

I think this game could be a lot like the Colts game for us if everything goes right. We just need to finish drives and tackles. We had the ball 45min to 15min and still lost that game because we gave up to many big plays. The problem I see that you have even more weapons then the Colts so our coaches need to come up the game plan of their lives on defense.

On offence we now have a QB behind center that has a big time arm unlike Penny who couldn't throw the long ball his life depended on it. This will at least spread the field and help our runners with even bigger holes. We both have great 'O' lines

Sorry this post is kind of all over the place but I'm writing it kind of fast and figure I'll be able to talk in more detail about the game when I respond to your comments.
thanks for the comments, dude. i, and many others, am worried about ya'lls wildcat offense. no one runs it better than you guys! we've gone up against the eagles and jets who run it some, but, they cant do it like ya'll can!

i'll be there at the game, so, i hope all the other fans are just as cool as you are! good luck to you guys. its gonna be a good game.

Thats cool hope you have fun. Just to let you know there is like a 65% chance of rain so come prepared. As far as the other FinFans were only mean to our east rivals, especially the Jets.
