I think the current organization is structured in a way that should lead to several more winning seasons. And I guess it depends on how you define dynasty. The Eagles haven't won a Superbowl but have been close for what seems like 10 years. At a minimum I think we can achieve that level of success for an extended period of time. |

Went with "Let's win one first and then talk".
I agree with Danno. We have the key pieces to be a solid NFC contender for 5-6 years and if draft well and continue to add solid FA's we can be Eagles-like. I'd like to see a few more late seasons successes than they have experienced though. |

Re: Do you think the Saints are built to be a Dynasty?
Very good potential, the Saints are doing the right things these days. They have an ideal QB for playing indoors, and the cast to go with it. The defense is still a work in progress but it's getting there. Loomis has been one heck of a GM and has not made very many mistakes on players. Benson has been a very good owner for the Saints, yeah I know some would disagree with that. I guess we will see. The truth in the NFL is things do change all the time, so as good as things are now, it's always possible to get bad. As noted, the Rams are a prime example.

Re: Do you think the Saints are built to be a Dynasty?
I think this team is close to being built for a dynasty. Everyone knows that as long as SP is the head coach, the offense is going to be high powered and hard to stop.
The question that I really have is the defense. While well coached, much improved and much more aggressive, what happens if when our much heralded DC leaves? Greg Williams has been instrumental in this teams success. If he leaves SP has to find someone else that will compliment his versitile and aggressive style on offense. If the Saints continue to win this year, you can bet that Greg Williams will be on the radar for a lot of teams next year. Bensen is going to have to write a big check to keep him around another year....that's if he wants to remain in NO as a DC. Another team is going to want him as the HC and that may be enough to lead him astray regardless of how much Bensen wants to pay him. IMO, the Saints have several pieces in place to remain a contender for a few years. They gotta make it to the SB in order for me to buy into it completely though. |

We are good but we can't be way over our heels to say w are gonna be a dynasty. We can very well end up 8-8 again (knock in wood). So we can't loose our focus and keep playing with heart and intensity.

Re: Do you think the Saints are built to be a Dynasty?
Agreed, a lot of the success is going to depend on how long Gregg Williams sticks around. The one thing going for the Saints is he was already a head coach, and maybe, just maybe, he is not that high on the wish list for teams. Plus I really don't believe there will be many coaching changes this off-season. Yes, there are some pretty stinky teams right now, but most have coaches that are just starting out with their teams. I would be very worried if the Titans foolishly dump Jeff Fisher.

Steelers
Niners Cowboys Celtics Lakers Bulls Yankees A's Dodgers The Hockey ones Saints??? No, my friends. Don't go buying tshirts just yet. Although some teams still have "winning traditions" today's caps and free agencies don't make for great dynasties. I WILL BE HAPPY WITH CHAMPIONSHIP NUMERO UNO!!! |

Re: Do you think the Saints are built to be a Dynasty?
Way too early to even consider it. We're having a great year and all, but we really haven't done jack squat and have yet to even make it to a Superbowl. I think we have a solid foundation to become a perennial winner... but dynasty is way premature and laughable actually. Obviously Brett Farve is playing into his 40s, but that's just not the case with everyone. How long does everything think Drew can sustain this level of success? Will it be long enough for us to possibly win 1 Superbowl? At a lot of key positions, we'll have a lot of older players that will be on the downside of their careers in the next couple of years.
