Re: Do you think the Saints are built to be a Dynasty?
Definately wayyy too early to be talking dynasty. Right now my eyes are on making the playoffs and having homefield throughout as I didn't like our chances in that snowy Chicago game of 2006 (although Vikings may be the main threat and at least they are in a dome)
On a more pressing level....nice avatar homer lol |

Again, the question isn't "are we a dynasy", its are we built " to become one", meaning we aren't one yet.

True. No one is denying what we have now. Its nice to be solid at key positions...but whose to say we will even be able to afford to keep these "pieces" of a potential dynasty

In any case, when I saw your thread, I laughed. Are we built to be a dynasty? Depends on how long Greg Williams stays. |

Re: Do you think the Saints are built to be a Dynasty?
Sounds like we have a consensus. The Saints are putting the pieces in place to enable several seasons of championship contention. They won't actually be a dynasty unless they win 2-3 Super Bowls, which is a tall order indeed. The difference between the Eagles and the Patriots of the last several years is a handful of plays made or not made at critical times.
What are the key pieces of a perennial contender? I would say outstanding QB, outstanding coaching, high character players, depth at all positions, no high-priced free agents, and a culture of continuous improvement. The Saints have made a lot of progress putting those pieces together. If they keep heading in that direction, they will be very good for a number of years. As for championships, that is up to the football gods. |
