We are in the playoffs with a first round bye. We will play GB or Dallas in the dome in the playoffs. We have a real good chance for HFA still now that Steve Smith broke his arm. We will have Porter, Greer, Shockey, PT, Bell, Shanle, and Gay back for the playoffs. We have had to do a lot defensively and offensively (D. Thomas playing fullback and TE in the same game, etc.) to fight injuries.

Everyone at the beginning of the season would have jumped through the roof for a first round bye and to make it to the playoffs so relax and enjoy rooting for our Saints! Big game next week and if we lose, we still play in the playoffs with the whole team back. Capici?

While I understand your sentiment, you really aren't trying to say that your assessment is based upon a single game, right? To be factual, we've played like garbage for the last four games starting with Washington. We've made every second tier QB we've played looked like Tom Brady. Our defense can't get off the field basically all game long. We can't run the ball. Brees is out of sync with the receivers and his famed accuracy seems to have taken a break.

If I'm concerned and somewhat dismayed (and I am), it's not because we've lost one game. I want to be optimistic, but I am not foolish. Our team is in real trouble and has been for a month now. Those who want to try to minimize it will have to do better than saying "it's only one game" because that is simply incorrect.

Brees was sharp yesterday and he had some drops..i think our D not protecting a 17 point lead is of more concern..i dunno

I don't know. I was watching the second half on my palm pre (better than nothing, but not easy to do). I read in Sean's PC where we came up a yard short on a number of 3rd downs. I'm concerned about the "D" as we all have been, but what, our "O" goes awol for 30 minutes too?

It was more about injuries and I would say the same since Washington...even before New England. Chris McAlister played 2 games. MM was brought in at the end of the season. Greer out 2 months. Porter out for several weeks. Starting 2 10 + year vets at CB that had no training camp. Shanle's concussion, Fujita's knee infection, Ellis' sprained knee out for several games, D. Thomas playing fullback and bringing in Eckel when Shockey was injured. Sharper missing time, PT getting bruised ribs yetserday, Reggie missing games, Lance Moore barely playing, Usama out, Gay out, kickers, etc.

That is why the sky is not falling. The Saints have not played poorly, they have actually played well since New England considering all of the injuries and player shuffling. Even if we lose 21-0 vs Carloina the whole team won't have been practicing together until the playoff game.

The miraculous thing is that Porter, Greer, Sharper, Ellis, Fuji, Shanle, Reggie, Moore, Usama, PT, Gay, and Shockey will be ready to go when it matters most.

There is no team in the NFL that can lose all of those starters (plus the IR guys) at key positions and succeed. Any team would have a production drop in those circumstances, and most of ours are defensive. We will finally see the whole team play together since mid season in the playoffs.

Re: The Sky is not Falling

At this point of last season after a few lackluster performances everyone wrote the Cards off. They took care of business in the playoffs and made it to the Superbowl. We Still have a chance. Lets support our team!

Jenkins is not a corner.
I do not agree with that statement. I think Jenkins will be just fine but right now he's a rookie and he's playing like one. I like his agressivness and I think he will be wastly improved come next year. Right now however i just want Greer back.
