The Sky is not Falling
OK,
We lost to sucky Tampa in the dome going for HFA. We played flat in the second half on cruise control. Jenkins is not a corner. Our D made 3 huge stops at the end to get the ball back and we did what we had to to get the FG try. Hartley missed. 'tis life. We are in the playoffs with a first round bye. We will play GB or Dallas in the dome in the playoffs. We have a real good chance for HFA still now that Steve Smith broke his arm. We will have Porter, Greer, Shockey, PT, Bell, Shanle, and Gay back for the playoffs. We have had to do a lot defensively and offensively (D. Thomas playing fullback and TE in the same game, etc.) to fight injuries. Everyone at the beginning of the season would have jumped through the roof for a first round bye and to make it to the playoffs so relax and enjoy rooting for our Saints! Big game next week and if we lose, we still play in the playoffs with the whole team back. Capici? |

Re: The Sky is not Falling
Preach! We got real spoiled their for a minute, but let's not bicker over the few blemishes on the season we've all been waiting our whole lives for. UF, USC, & U of Texas fans have the right to call a 2 loss season a failure, not Saints fans (or any NFL team fan, for that matter).

Re: The Sky is not Falling
Really, the bigger concern is that we have not played well in a month.

Re: The Sky is not Falling
The defense hasn't played well in a month. The offense is still scoring 24 points a game over the last 4. When everyone comes back from injury for the second round game this team will look like it did to start the season. The motivation returns and the excitment returns. The dome will be loud and they feed off of that. The coaching staff will have this team ready to go for that first playoff game, and I think we will see more of what we saw earlier in the season from the defense.

Better start that on Sunday.
It is too hard to "flip a switch" and start playing top notch football. That is usually something that you build up to... |
