A lil optimism and a lil reality for u guys
Of course if we end with the #2 seed alot of ppl will be disappointed since we had #1 all but locked up. but it wont be as bad as you think, because (1) minnesota is not exactly playing lights out right now either, and they can go one and done jus as easy as anyone else. (2) it should really give our players a wake up call and show them that nothing will be jus handed to them and they have to actually earn their fate. (3) we should be fully healthy in the secondary by then and give our big men on the Dline and O line a extra week to rest their legs so they can play up to the ability, cuz most game are won in the trenches anyway. so jus think about those things for now. BUT theres one thing i am happy about, that is all our saints fans have dropped thier cocky attitude and quit thinking we're unstopable. cuz in the NFL its any given sunday...or monday...or saturday...or whenever game day is, if you dont bring ur A game, anyone can beat anybody

Anybody think Philly or GB or Minnesota or Dallas or Arizona can't come to the Dome and win? HFA isn't going to mean anything if our boys don't start playing at a playoff level.

And for them to basically throw it away today is just sad. I'm not one of these "fans" ready to pack it in but anyone who is discarding are last 2 losses is blind. |

Re: A lil optimism and a lil reality for u guys
As the Giants blowout ended, the NY FOX station up here in NJ switched to the Saints game at the start of OT. As I stood in the kitchen at work (I'm a chef) and blessed myself before OT, the rest of my crew (mainly Giants fans) crowded around the TV and started their smack talk (yes, after their team just got whipped up on....typical Giant fans).
As TB kicked the game winner in OT, the kitchen erupted in a synchronized clatter which blew me away. I turned to these clowns and said, "sure clap it up....but we're still the #1 team in the NFC. Normally by this time in the year, I'm wearing a bag on my head and watching hockey instead of football, so I'm going to enjoy it while I can.....even after 2 measly losses". I agree we aren't playing well, and some things need to change, but come on.....we're 13-2! Onto Carolina.....a dogfight in the trenches. I'll actually be at this game.......look for the pyscho in end zone row 1 with a black #1 jersey with "NEW JERSEY" written on the back. The loss gives them something to play for down there, so it should be a good game. |

I looked over at my mamma and told her, "It's ok, we can still get it next week. We're still in the playoffs." To which the Vikings fan spouted, "Well, you guys lost to a 3-12 team. So...." I whipped around and shot him the look of death and without missing a beat, snapped back, "Nobody asked you for your opinion. And how many games did YOU lose??" My momma had to keep me from flying across the table and strangling him. Five years ago, these jockeys didn't give two sh*ts about New Orleans. Now they want the Saints to lose more than they want their own teams to win. But I am still optimistic we will come back from this nasty loss. |

Re: A lil optimism and a lil reality for u guys
i'm still believing were going to come out of this slump. if we can kick a field goal next week and beat carolina this is whats going to happen. with the needed rest our boys will come out and shell shock i'm thinking its going to be the packers in the dome so its the packers loss that we start of with then i'm leaning to the eagles for the 06 rematch for the conference title to the superbowl.and with all our defence in tach with confedence hello miami

Frankly, in a way this loss might put the fear of God back into us after somehow thinking the playoffs and super bowl were going to be magically handed to us.
We have to come out with a fury against Carolina now. If we can do it, we'll build momentum going into the post-season. I'd like to see us get our swagger back. |
