Re: Saints Hatred?

Well, I am from Indy... I am a Colts fan... and I don't hate you. Not very many of us do. We share the same small market issues you do. In fact, it seemed like to us... the whole season when the Colts and the Saints were both undefeated... all we heard about was the Saints. The Colts got no respect.

We get that. It's been like that for a decade with us. The Colts have won more games than ANYONE else, in the best division in football for the last 10 years... and we STILL get no respect.

The Saints are awesome. I have said it all year. I like the Saints. I rooted for the Vikings. For one simple reason. I think they would be easier for the Colts to beat.

If your guys win, I'll be happy as hell for you. These two teams are both classy, down to earth, well mannered, programs that deserve to be where they are. The fact that we're both small market teams is proof that the league has gotten what it wanted with equity, and that no longer can the unscrupulous Owners simply BUY Lombardi Trophy's.

Congratulation to all you Saints fans. 9 more days...

thats a great point. Baseball should learn from this. The Yankees have made baseball pointless.

We upset the natural order of things. Of course we're going to get our fair share of hatred. Those in power want to keep power, even if they have bad ideas or bad execution.

That's why you've got a media bias towards Brett Favre, he gives the media what they want - drama and conflict on an historically important team. That's why the Cowboys got so much love in round 1 even though they really weren't very good.

We're not all that interesting because most of the players on our team don't do stupid things that create drama. In reality, nobody likes the selfless act, and bad actors find ways to make those, for whom charity begins at home, into flawed and unsympathetic creatures.

We celebrate the Donald for his cunning in getting bailed out of bankruptcy because he was "too big to fail," but we punish the little guy whose original restaurant "Taj Mahal" must change his name because the Donald owns it for his new casino.

The only way to stop the disrespect is to squash them like a bug on the playing field, with dignity.

Who dat got their pants on the ground? Warner? Favre?

They didn't see the Saints coming and they had plenty of time for preperation. Shame on them.

Well said.

Seriously, good points. We smashed the natural order of WHAT THEY EXPECTED IN THEIR MINDS but the actual natural order was the Saints were the #1 seed. Oops.

I couldn't help comment here...this is completely true. In 1974, I believe it was, I played for MGCJC and we went 5-5 in the regular season...but we were 4-1 in the South division, so that was good enough to win the South. We ended up winning the state championship that year by beating Itawamba in the state championship game and finishing 6-5 for the year.

I think part of the problem is us...the fans of the Saints. We are not use to this, have not ever been here before, and don't realize that all teams go through this to some degree. There are always happy winners and sore losers...always.

Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!
