Saints Hatred?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I've never seen the Nation get in a tissy over the decades of Pittsburghers dirty hits. Not sure what to say. I agree to a degree with some disclaimers....

IT MAKES ME VIOLENTLY ANGRY. All I want to do, is start laying people out fist to face,

I'm with ya man, when i heard that jackass from Seattle. That crap infuriates me. I also say to hell with anybody who is not a Saints fan and says Sh*t like that. Would love from some A** to say those things to me in person.

I talked to a Patriots fan (an old friend) yesterday and he says that Boston is all Black and Gold. So I would guess the AFC cities love us and the NFC cities have jealous hatred.

Re: Saints Hatred?

All I've heard all season is a deafening silence regarding the Saints. Haven't yet encountered any real Saints Hatred, except from a few cryin' Vikes fans. It seems to me that the "silent majority" out there is cheering for the Saints, but the national media missed it's "Farve Drama Story" so it's pissed. F' em. We're in the SUPER BOWL.

Re: Saints Hatred?

Chalk it all up to ignorance, and keep on goin! People envy people who make it to the top, and then the hating starts. This is in all aspects of life. Very few people are gracious enough to be happy for someone, or "team", who has risen above mediocre. My husband and I were discussing this the other day. He has been very blessed in his profession and business, and his "friends" from back home with the exception of ONE refuse to come visit or even keep in touch. Yep, sure seems stupid, but human nature can be a "biatchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" sometimes, can't it?

Life is too short to be miserable....make changes while you can!

I appreciate that Mike, I really do. I know this much, when it comes to Southern people in general, say what you want, but when the chips are down, no matter how we feel about each other, we will fight against any and all comers, that wanna try. I guess it's a matter of pride in alot of ways, but also a matter of family, and the values we grew up with.

My Saints family is here, and I know who they are. We got each others backs, and that's what matters most on this. So, to the Saints first superbowl, I salute you all. Let's bring this home now.

What's popular is not always right, and what's right is not always popular.....

Re: Saints Hatred?

Hurting people hurt people. Every football fan, besides Saints and Colts fans, are crying in their milk. There are different levels of pain: Vikes, Cards, Jets, Bolts... have really short fuses right about now. Remember 2006 for us; now that hurt. We rushed the ball only 9 times against a Bears team that let this same Colts team run for nearly 200 yards on them in the SB. I was mad at Payton and everybody else I could think of. But I/we had the integrity to not rain on someone elses parade. Haters are everywhere - we just happen to be at the receiving end of most of it. Comes with the territory - we can take it.

We will pull together, sometimes it takes a little time and coaxing.

On that note, I will pass along this little tidbit of info that some of you younger guys may not have known.

Archie Manning, when he was between the ages of around 18 and 22, was public enemy numero uno in Louisiana. He and his Rebels put blemishes on a couple of LSU promising seasons, if I'm remembering this right...and was not so welcome by all Saint fans in those first few years. I think there are some who still haven't totally forgotten.

I will never forget the headline of the TP Sunday morning after Ole Miss burned the Tigers his Jr. year. It read,

"Yes, Virginia, there is a Superman...and he wears #18 for the Ole Miss Rebels".

Suffice it to say that the Tigers did get their revenge on Archie his Sr. year when they beat Archie and the Rebs soundly, somewhere around fitty. Archie had a cast on his whole left arm, but not making excuses.

Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!
