this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Play of the game: Porter's Pick 6 Most valuable player: Brees. Runner up: Vilma. What a great team effort though by all the players. But Brees and Vilma are the ones they can't live without....

Re: No disrespect drew, but.....
I want to make this clear. I am not saying Brees was not amazing, but the Porter play ended things.

Pierre Thomas may not be in the running for MVP, but he certainly made some major contributions to this win.

Many players had their moments. But Drew deserves it for what he did not only in this game, but for his career with the Saints. He is our MVP of all time IMO.

One play does not an MVP make. Drew had the best complete GAME.

Re: No disrespect drew, but.....
So one of the best performances in nfl history by a quarterback in the superbowl should be overshadowed by 1 interception by Porter? Porter played awesome, the whole defense played awesome. Porter made an awesome play. Without Drew Brees' performance though that interception wouldn't have matter. How exactly do you think the game would have went if Aaron Brooks was the QB? Not trying to sound negative on Porter in any way, but its kind of obvious to me who the MVP was.

Re: No disrespect drew, but.....
The comment was not to be negative. The fact is that Porter's pick 6 changed the entire game. He did not have one big play. The guy had 4 tackles, 1 pass defended, and held Reggie Wayne to 46 yards receiving. Drew was the MVP of the playoffs no doubt. The offense has been scoring all year, but the defense just held the Colts offense to 17 points and he was a huge reason for that.
