Also, I know its not possible, but if only you could give the MVP to a coach, I think the guy who seriously deserves it, is the guy who has had a lot of people say not so nice things about him a lot of the time. SEAN PAYTON! What a great game that guy called, the onside kick, going for it on 4th down to keep Peyton away from the endzone, THE CHALLENGE, I mean damn. I loved it all.
The one thing I didn't like was the play call on the 4th down, I was screaming at the tv. I got over it in a hurry though and then took my rightful place right back on the sofa. THAT'S WHY HE'S THE COACH!!!! YOU DA MAN SEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAY TO GO SAINTS! |

Re: No disrespect drew, but.....
I think the MVP could have gone to a number of players last night. I don't have a problem with Brees getting it. It was well deserved. I think that Hartley however needs a very honorable mention. Our first possessions looked very dismal. It was looking grim. Someone in the chat room last night even threw in the towel when it was 10 - 0. Hartley gave us hope and kept our and the team's spirits alive in a very bleak situation. I think he is not getting near the credit that he deserves for this game. This kid is what, 23 years old? Can you imagine the pressure that was on him? And he nailed three spectacular kicks, getting into the Superbowl record books. I think without those three kicks to keep the game alive and the spirits high, we have a whole different game.

I agree but mainly because, well, Drew is our MVP. That is a no brainer. He doesn't NEED to be given the trophy to be our MVP. He just is. So I think Porter should have gotten the trophy. Brees doesn't need a MVP trophy. He is a walking MVP trophy.

Say what you will. I watched the game again last night. The Onside recovery took the wind out of their sails and left them with that "WTF just happened" look.
The OS kick was the turning point. The interception sealed the deal. |

Re: No disrespect drew, but.....
No offense to any of you but there are maybe 2-3 QBs in the league who could have got the Saints to the SB.
Plenty of players on your defense could be swapped out with similar results but there is no real replacement for Drew Brees. Aside from that, he played an almost flawless game, which is incredible considering it was his first SB |

Re: No disrespect drew, but.....
It was a team effort in the end.
The MVP goes to everyone. Little things by everyone contributed to big time plays. |
