Remember when?

I don't know why but I made the mistake of going over to the colts board just to see what they were saying and as always, the loser always talks about how classless the winner is.

But when you think about classless; remember a few years ago when we were hosting the manning led colts in the Dome? The game was so lopsided that we actually stood and gave our Saints a standing ovation when we FINALLY made a first down, midway through the 2nd quarter. Later, up 31-3 with just a few seconds left in the 1st half and slightly out of field goal range, peyton called that trick play where he took the snap and acted like the play had been blown dead and started walking to the sideline with the football. Fortunately, we didn't fall for it but at the same time, our defensive players were afraid to hit peyton, fearing a penalty which would have put the colts in field goal range so they just kinda walked out with him but not harassing him. All of a sudden, marvin harrison breaks deep and peyton throws a bomb scoring a touchdown. Fortunately, the referees showed pity on us and claimed they had blown the play dead. A trick play, up 31-3. real class. It was before Katrina but I remember it like it was yesterday. To me, that made the interception he threw this time all the more sweet.

Re: Remember when?

I was listening to that game on the radio. I learned to cuss as a young child, became a professional using 'language' learning to play golf, and mastered the art during that game.

Re: Remember when?

I've been watching the Saints lose thier fair share of games since day one and never b.i.t.c.h.e.d about it ONCE.

Just speaking for myself.

I lived up in Indianapolis for a short while. They have no room to talk about anyone. From what I saw if ya want class up there you have to enroll in a school.

Re: Remember when?

... not only did he start walking towards the sideline, he started gesturing and jumping up and down and mouthing off pretending he was upset about the play, trying to fool everyone.

and then we had to watch him and dungy laugh about it. I remember saying how crude that was, considering he was a New Orleans native. Is that what he thinks his dad would have wanted? He showed the same class by walking off the field after the Super Bowl without shaking hands with Drew. Deep down I like Peyton, but I'm losing respect for him.

I'm not gonna go that far, but when he went to Tennessee is when I lost a lot of interest in him. I have been an Ole Miss fan all my life, so that's why I became a big fan of Archie and Eli later, but Peyton not so much.

I think we can all be thankful that neither Peyton nor Eli were ever drafted by the Saints...because if you think it was ugly when Eli dissed SD...oh, brother...if Archie would have had to tell either of them not to go to the Saints...can you imagine?

Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!

Re: Remember when?

I was looking at some old youtube stuff on Peyton and the brothers. Check this one out and notice the play where Peyton rolls out and throws downfield.(around the :27 mark) It seems almost identical to the play in the SB when he rolled out and dropped it in to Clark, I think it was, only he missed in the video. Check it out...

You are so right.
For Saints, and fans like you who have ST, it took a hellishly long time. OK I am not a ST holder, but I have an exceptional memory - so I remember alright. "Stuff" happens but I am firm believer that you get what you deserve, in the end. And now, I hope you are like me, very very comforted by it all.
