I hate that we always get out-coached...
Especially against porven coaches...
Sorry but, Haslett has to go NOW When you looa at certain points of the game, we keep coming up on the wrong end. For example, the fumbled kick off today. It's a free kick, if you don't have to touch it.. They can't onside kick in that case because of the safety. Coaching. Led to a TD The fake punt, Two weeks in a row???? You got to be kidding me. Does the ST's coach watch film with the rest of the staff? First Down, led to 3 Pts. Goal line situation, right before half... Running QB in the pocket.. (See MIN last year) And NO QB SPY!!! Thank god McNair fumbled, actually the scoer could have been a lot worse. I turned off the game after Stollwarth fumbled... So that's as far as this thread goes. fm [Edited on 22/9/2003 by frankeefrank] |

well, its only week 3, and i think most of the problem comes from Venturi, and Mcarthy, those two are just bad coordinators, they are the ones who need to go not Haslett, and i think we could use a new GM. its not hasletts fault, at least not all of it, haslett isn\'t a one man coaching staff, so it can\'t be all his fault.

If you think asst. coaches act on their own, you don\'t know a thing about the game.
Starts from the top... Look at Haslett\'s overall record, He\'s average. I\'m sick of settling for average. FM |

Coordinators make the difference in football. Rarely does a head coach mean more than the coordinators, and you\'ll pretty much never see a great head coach with terrible coordinators do anything. Gruden is one of those guys, although he is sort of his own coordinator. The Tuna. Fossil (although he\'s also a pseudo-coordinator)...
Coordinators, in my mind, are always more important than head coaches... but the head coaches hires and manages the coordinators, so he is equally responsible. |

well, then, maybe we need to get a new Head Coach, and a new set of Coordinators, revamp the whole coaching staff.

I view it as the coordinators is responsible for making sure the game plan is in place and then making sure the right plays are called during the game. The Head coach is too make sure he has coordinators that fit his style of football and to make sure the game plan is what he believes is right for the opponent. The head coach is the coaches coach and during games he makes sure all the right buttons are being pushed.
As for what the saints have ... Coordinators are horrible and the head coach is weak. I have been saying this for way too long. Haz does not assert himself on this team. He wants to be everyones friend. |
