Re: Panthers Released Jake!
1-JD 's best days are over.
2-His age. 3-It would cost the Saints a lot of money to buy him. Do you think he will sign for free? 4-He will be a back-up, on the bench QB. 5-He would not want that. Who wants to be a first string QB , still good for a weaker team in rebuilding phase where he could be thee QB, but settle for a team coming off a SB win that will keep their SB QB . 6-JD is from LA and it is a feel good story and that is all. It is a nice little comfort thing for many Saints fans. Feel good and comfort feelings does make winning games. 7-There is not future in having him as a back-up QB. 8-The Saints Sb team is going through a small reshuffling, rebuilding process as it is due to FA. 9-It would better and cheaper tofind that younger QB, just starting, and pay less and mold him. Yeah, this is luck of the draw, draft, FA, whatever, but Brees will not be around forever. Nor will Manning, Manning, Brady, Farve, Romo, etc. 10-Saints fans have bitterness about JD vs. AB which is partly fiction, old stuff, unfair, and just old . Let the past sleep. JD is the past for the brief time he was here. |

Re: Panthers Released Jake!
I'd rather bring Brooks back that sign Delhomme as Brees backup.

Re: Panthers Released Jake!
DUDE GET OFF THE PIPE... And DO NOT EVER MENTION THAT NAME AGAIN!!!
That dude is a legend in his own mind. Jake has had some issues recently in his career it is obvious. But the guy is one of US. He grew up pulling for the Black and Gold. He stood by this organization while Has-been-let bro-manced the player who was at best equal in depth chart status to his jersey number(2). I spoke to this kid at the start of training camp several years back when there was speculation that Brooks would not sign a contract, I saw the hurt in his eyes as He told me in the parking lot of the facility that the nameless one was back and in camp. He grew up wanting to be a Saint. I would love to see him finish his career backing up Brees. He brings leadership and savvy to the locker room. For our next championship id love to see Jake get a ring. Guess Im a Delhomme FAN. He's a fighter, a compettitor and should have the respect of all football fans hes earned it.
