"For the first time this offseason, a restricted free agent has reached agreement on an offer sheet with another team.
Saints restricted free-agent running back Mike Bell signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, and a league source said it's worth $1.7 million, includes $500,000 guaranteed and could be worth over $2 million if he hits his incentives. The Saints will have seven days to match the offer sheet. If they decline, Bell becomes Eagles property without Philadelphia having to surrender any draft-choice compensation." I don't really care for Bell. He had flashes of talent, in a few games, but seemed to be invisible in the play offs. We used Hamilton in short yardage situations more and he did a great job in my opinion. Let Bell go to Philly. I don't really care.

Re: Bell signed to an offer sheet!! confirmed
Personally I think he started off GREAT, but then just like his days in Denver ... He faded. I'm sure SP noticed this and that's why he won't be wearing a Saints uniform anymore. Plus, I agree ... Hamilton played VERY well when given the opportunity and he comes at a much less expensive price tag.
We won't match and I think it's the right decision. Thanks for the work though Mr. Bell. |

and the only carry we remember is when he slipped on the goalline...and nobody would even remember that except for the sound bite we've all heard where payton yells at him for wearing the wrong shoes lets not forget that the kid carried us through the first part of the season and was a consistant short yardage back until late in the year |

Maybe he'll remember to wear the right shoes. Good fortune, Mike Bell.

I'm not completely sold on Hamilton either. I think it was the Vikings game on short yardage he didn't follow his blocks and tried to stretch it out wide and was tackled for a lost plus in preseason he had some fumbling issues. I would have preferred if we had kept PJ Hill last year. Not sure what I'd do if this was my decision to make.
