Which team will show up sunday?
so, which team will show up sunday, the team that beat the Texans, or the guys the staff pulled out of the stands, when nobody showed up at the game? will AB play great again? will his receivers play great as well? will Haz and CO. get their act together, and play more aggressively? Haz needs to shape up, it is some of the players faults as well, some of it can be blamed on injuries, everybody on that team needs to play better like AB, and Conwell and Pathon are tryin to do, but there is no such thing as a one man team, a team requires everyones help, and we are not getting that yet, i hope we do this week. Thoughts?

Which team will show up sunday?
This team plays with no fire and no heart. I thought it was a reflection of Brook\'s carefree laidback style. But now I\'m starting to think the problem may go further up the chain than that.
Just because Haslett was a firey competitor when he played doesn\'t mean his team will have the same attitude. Haz was a non-stop fighter, but maybe he doesn\'t know how to motivate others to do the same. He may just take that for granted in his players. Some of the worst coaches were awesome atheletes on the field. Some of the best coaches were mediocre overachievers on the field. But I\'m still partly in denial so things are real fuzzy right now. Kinda like waking up with a severe hangover and you can\'t remember how or where you got it! |

yea, im still kinda that way too about HAZ, when he came in in 2000, i thought he wuz the best coach we\'ve ever had, now i am just not sure what to think. I am starting to beleive we need a revamping of the coaching staff, including Haz, but i kinda want to wait and see how this season pans out.

I can\'t see changes being made in the middle of the season. I really don\'t think it realistic. It would be nice to have someone calling the offense that knows what they are doing and has a plan that works. Defensively, not to much they can do right now with all the injuries, Venturi will be the sacrificial lamb at the end of this season I think. I\'d rather see him demoted than fired, he\'s a good position coach, just not worth a sh~t as a defensive co ordinator.
As for Haz, when was the last time you saw him get in a players face on the sidelines? He coddles these players to much. Get mad Jim, kick em in the nads for Christ\'s sake. Beat the hell out of their lockers, show some emotion, take it out on somebody that deserves it. That shouldn\'t be to hard to find. I\'m not sure if Haz will get the axe after this fiasco or not but I can see him losing some of the power he has over the team from Benson. |

Which team will show up sunday?
As far as I can tell, the players aren\'t going to get it together until the coaches do.Right now the coaching staff is one big cluster f**k and the players know it.They can see that Haslett and the boys are being far outcoached. They are only doing what coach tells them to do.I can go back to the black and gold scrimmage when players like Deuce and Horn looked disgruntled at the way the coaching staff wasn\'t playing many starters.Deuce even had words with Haslett before heading to the locker room before the game.I think that they are fed up with McCarthy\'s playcalling. He is getting them killed out there. The defense is only doing what the coaches are telling them to do.I personally think Haslett is covering his own butt by staying conservative with the defense.I don\'t think his speedy defense can stop the big play like he trys to make out.He and venturi have the secondary playing a lot of deep zones to make up for that fact.Playing the corners far off of the recievers more times than not is also stupid in my opinion for a team that is supposed to be so fast. The players IMO can see the disorganization and it\'s causing bad play on the field.I think Haslett has bitten off more than he can chew trying to be a talent coordinator and head coach. That IMO causes conflict of interest because he wants all of his picks and acuisitions to start so that he can look like he knows what he is doing.Ambrose over Thomas is one example. If he dosen\'t do some soul searching and admit that he can\'t do everything then he is going to self destruct and take this team with him.He has his longtime friend as a Defensive coordinator and dosen\'t want to demote him.I think a good football oriented GM is what we need to right this ship.Mr. Benson dosen\'t know what he\'s doing when it comes to hiring GM\'s.He just wants people who are going to protect his assets. He screwed up when he fired Mueller.Where is Ron Wolf when you need him.

Which team will show up sunday?
With so much anger being aimed at Haslett after a 1-2 start, I can only imagine what he will be feeling if the Saints lose to the Colts. Hopefully, with all the heat Haslett is feeling it will give him a sense of urgency to get this ship pointed in the right direction. While, Haslett has received some critcism for the late season collapses the past two years, I don\'t think he has been under this much pressure to produce. He knows that the fans are tired of the excuses and he knows the buck stops with him.
How he handles this pressure is going to determine how the Saints do this year. Some people perform their best when the pressure is on and some fold under the pressure. Haslett has enough talent on this team to make a run at the playoffs, but the question remains, is he willing to change the way he is using this talent. The other big question is, do the players still have confidence in Haslett. Haslett must get the players to play with a sense of urgency for a full 60-minutes. While this game against the Colts doesn\'t make the season, I firmly beleive that it will tell us how this team is going to do this year. Will they continue to look like an inferior team or will the REAL saints take the field. I\'m hoping that Haslett realizes that he must do what ever it takes to win this game. We\'ll see............ |

Which team will show up sunday?
To answer the question, I say it will be the same team that showed up for Seattle. They will not be as bad as the Tenn game but they will still look bad.
Well everyone on this post saved me lots of writing. Add it all up and that is exactly how I feel. I do think the offensive players have given up already. It is obvious they do not like the game plans they are being forced to run and its like any other job, if you don\'t like it your not going to be your best. On the defense I have to give some \"atta boy\" to venturi so far. Those guys on defense have not quit in one game so far. They may not be stopping teams like we would all like to see but they are playing with fire and appear to be giving all they have for the whole game. It almost looks like the players like playing for him right now. Back to offense. Call me crazy right now but my gut instinct is some players are trying to make a statement with their play. When they hear a play called that they know is stupid it looks like they purposely make it fail even worse. |

Which team will show up sunday?
As much as I like and respect Archie, I\'m not sure he could pull this off. There are other coachs out there that could be brought in to establish some kind of continuity on offense. The problem with bringing in a new co-ordinator at this late date is a new system. Players have to have time to learn it. That\'s something they don\'t have right now. If they could find someone as a co-ordinator that knows this system and terminology then you might have something.

Why do people keep saying that Venturi was a good position coach? Wasn\'t he the defensive backs coach before he became D Coordinator? Oh yeah, we\'ve had some excellent secondaries in the past, let me tell you. His career record was posted on this board a while back and he had never had a winning season as a coordinator or head coach if I remember correctly. He\'s a bad coach, but a nice guy. Dump him.
