this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Terrelle has 2 touchdowns , in case you missed that . Made some sense at some point and it kinda blows your NEVER theory ...... Why don\'t we just let Wanye Gandy be an eligable receiver? Makes about as much ...

Why don\'t we just let Wanye Gandy be an eligable receiver? Makes about as much sense. Would that be better or worse then lining up Warren Sapp ????? See FWtex said call a 5 receiver set. And once again you are wrong Billy , try reading the posts before you respond to them FWtex wrote make it a 5 receiver set . If they show a 8-9 man box, make it a 5 rec. set and have all rec. go to a certain ZONE and find a hole. And this how you make it : Standard pro formation - split back works good for this one . Horn - Stallworth -Conwell Brooks audibles - to no back formation . Backs approach the line . Backs run cross over outs 5-10 yards Receivers run fly patterns Tight end runs a post pattern 5 receivers from a standard formation , audibilized in about 3 seconds . |

I could be wrong here, but why not just line up in 2 tight end sets all day?
Boo is more of a receiver than a blocker anyway and Conwell is a proven receiving threat too. With the 2 extra blockers up front, Duece has a little more room to work with and if they start loading 8 in the box, just let Boo and Conwell come off their blocks and Duece come out of the backfield. Then you\'d have 5 receivers without having to worry with Smith. Or line up with Stallworth on the field too and let Duece hang out as the singleback? Smith is a pretty good fullback, but if we\'re looking at 8 in the box we can\'t really run a great power game can we? Either way we could audible Duece out of the backfield or have him run a short out coming from the backfield. |

um 25 catches in a little over 3 years is NEVER
there is a reason he only has 25 catches: he has hands of stone, besides he\'s even gone on record to say he doesn\'t want the ball he wants to block and why is 08 discussing this anyway, AB is too dumb to run a hurry up offense if they have 8-9 guys in the box and we audible into a 5 reciever set you know what happens?? AB gets sacked because our o line looks like crap |

My Offensive Game Plan
Rusta --
Some members on here want to over complicate things. Take 08 for example. To make himself sound crediable, he needs to talk about things he really doesn\'t know about. Everyone knows about 4 and 5 receiver sets and how to audible out of a certain situations to get 4 or 5 players running pass routes, but you want to give your offense the best chance to succeed and it just isn\'t pratical for our fullback to run pass patterns. Especially when you consider we have enough talented receivers to not have to do that. 08 just has to bring RIDICULOS things up like that to further his agenda against Aaron Brooks. Anyone with any sense KNOWS that Aaron is not the problem with this offense. As a matter of fact, I would hate to see what the offense would have looked like without Aaron for the first 3 games. Great , now according to Billy we have fullbacks that it is not practical to throw too . Same set . Standard pro formation - split back works good for this one . Horn - Stallworth -Conwell Playaction pass - Duece up the middle , who is the safety valve ????? Horn - Stallworth -Conwell are covered , should Brooks take the sack or throw it out into the flat to a wide open Fullback ??? |

8 ball and Billie,
You guys have the same problem the current saints coaches have ... you can\'t think outside the box if your life depended on it. I called a 5 receiver set ... I did not say you would have 5 WR on the field. Tell me, would it be very possible to have Horn, Pathon, Stallworth, Deuce, and Conwell on the field with no back in the backfield? Absolutely, i have seen it too much already this season. If you have those 5 players its just a matter of positioning them for the defensive set. With the talent on the saints offense they could give defenses nightmares being able to switch back and forth from a 5 receiver set to a single back formation without substituting players. Problem would be it takes good coaching to pull this off. Sam Wyche used this concept very well with Boomer at QB and it was effective when they needed to get something going. Note I am not saying this would be the offense to be run for a whole game, but when the defense is whooping you all over the field. |

My apologies 08! I did not see where you were quoting what billy said in his post. I thought you were calling my post crazy like billie was. After going back and reading the rest of your post I see you have a similar thought on this.

Listen up girls (FWtex,08) if you think we\'re going to make a living sending our fullback out on pass routes, then more power to ya !!
FWtex -- You weren\'t wrong calling for a 5 receiver set -- But what you need to realize is that McCarthy needs to have the personel on the field for Brooks to be able to audible into that formation. So far McCarthy doesn\'t have the enough of our receivers on the field to give us the best chance for success.. 08 -- I don\'t know why I bother with you because you think Brooks is the cause of all that is evil. But listen up -- Go buy you an Aaron Brooks\' jersey and sit in front of your TV tonight and actually watch the man play QB. Quit pretending you are an expert at the QB position and watch the man make plays. |

Damn, I am such an idiot. I completely forgot Duece was the saints fullback. I also am too stupid to realize that Horn, Pathon, Stallworth, McAllister and Conwell does not give McCarthy enough on the field to work with.
I am out of my league on this board. |
