Re: Patrick Robinson
Not surprised at all by this move. I get kinda the same feeling as when we picked Deuce McAllister when we already had Rickey Williams, that move worked pretty darn good for us and I believe this one will too.

Re: Patrick Robinson
Dude, same thing applies for having enough good LB's. Kindle was there, nobody knows who the hell this guy is, so he'd be there later. I need a drink!

BPA.
Trust in Loomis and Payton |
Re: Patrick Robinson
horrible, horrible pick
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
it has to be weatherspoon got picked then we went for the best athelete. its just everyone waited seems like days to hear the wrong name, we'll be fine trade up for a top lb everyone doing backflips
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
Whatever dude. You would have been real classy if Cody had gone at 32. Go get your binky it's past your bedtime.
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
I just thought it was funny that Eddie Munster (aka Mel Kiper) ragged on us a little for taking a CB.
He's spent the past decade (minus last year) ragging on us for NOT taking one... |
Re: Patrick Robinson
not completely upset with this pick
worried that we should've used the pick on a bigger need but corner apparently was a need i know patrick robinson wasnt the BPA this helps immensely for our depth tho......we can blitz a lot more knowing that we now have a nickel guy that can cover speed as well |
Re: Patrick Robinson
Someone said it earlier, I would have rather them pick Clausen to back up Brees than this guy!
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
This wasn't a bad pick at all. If he's good he can replace Randall Gay. I have a good feeling that Loomis and Payton will do something even better in the 2nd round.

im worried about you because you didnt win anything...you didnt pick better than me and you didnt offer any constructive comments in these picks.....all you did was say you hate everything i say you wanna call me a baby....go ahead, thats your right......just remember how it makes you look once again......you'll grow up eventually.....everybody does |
Re: Patrick Robinson
This was a "F**k....the Colts just took our guy. Who do we pick now" move. I don't like the pick because the guy would have been there at 64. Well....let's just hope that Linval Joseph or one of my sleeper LB's falls to us in the 2nd. With no 3rd or 5th rounder, we're gonna' have to pick up some small school talent (ala J'Hari Evans & Marques Colston) in rounds 4, 6, & 7.
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
You two should be *****ing about this pick, instead of arguing with each other. LOL
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
I am surprised a bit, not so much that Sergio Kindle was still there, but that Everson Griffen was, and we didn't take him. I knew they wouldn't take Daryl Washington there (it was too high) but Griffen would have made sense.
But, remember, there is still lots of talent out there in Rounds 2 through 4... even in later rounds (we don't have a fifth now). |
Re: Patrick Robinson
Guess memories of deep passes beating the Saints still linger...

Re: Patrick Robinson
looks like they're gonna move Jenkins at free safety permanently, and have Robinson split time with Gay at the nickel corner. Bad thing is with jenkins at safety where is Sharper gonna end up? idk if the saints really want him back

I'm not sure about this. Mainly because I have no idea who the hell he is!

Re: Patrick Robinson
The fifth went to last years pick for the outstanding punter that Payton wanted. It turned out to be a wise move.
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
I don't like it at all and besides, he looks like an *******!

Re: Patrick Robinson
National Football League: NFL Draft Tracker 2010
Looks like he graded out pretty good after all. The announcers were gushing all over N.E.'s pick, Devin McCourty CB, who is graded similarly. Of course, we could've gotten this guy here. National Football League: NFL Draft 2010 - Akwasi Owusu-Ansah It'd been loads of fun to see actually who could easily pronounce his name. Maybe as an UDFA for us? |

Re: Patrick Robinson
I would have drafted McCoy or Clausen and let the trade offers come in all night and tomorrow. But, when it's all said and done, the guy is much better than Gay, Jenkins looked like a safety playing cornerback last year, Porter hasn't played a full season in his first two years, and Sharper looks less likely to re-sign. Good pick.

Re: Patrick Robinson
heh... well, just remember how we struggled when Greer and Porter got hurt last year. I can see why people would be disappointed in a first round backup, but I see the Saints point of view as well. I have faith.

Re: Patrick Robinson
i dont understand why everyone saying its ok we did this because its a deep draft and we can get LB/DTs later. why draft a nickel cb/special teamer with our first pick when theres someone who could start available?
oh and dont go to youtube and watch highlight videos because the first one i saw made me throw up in my mouth. i cant believe what just happened, i pray we're all wrong about this guy. |
Re: Patrick Robinson
Look at the bright side.....with a severe speech impedement, at least we won't have to worry about his mouth being a problem like with most CB's. :-) I'm still worried about audibles, though.

Re: Patrick Robinson
Here's the skinny:
"STOCK WATCH Many believe Patrick Robinson could be selected as high as 19th overall. (AP) Trying to rank the cornerbacks in this year’s draft is extremely difficult because of how many players at the position could have a late-first-to-early-second grade. Among those a a few weeks was Florida State’s Patrick Robinson — who, in addition to being a heck of a story, could be a heck of a problem for opposing quarterbacks. After his Pro Day, he just may have given himself the nudge he needed to be a surefire first-round pick. Robinson, who overcame a bad ankle in a 2009 season during which he established himself as one of the country’s top cover corners, didn’t wow anybody at the combine. His 4.46 40 time was marginal for someone of his size (5-foot-11 1/4). However, the 4.38 he ran recently at his Pro Day is more what scouts were looking for. Robinson is far from flashy and might not rack up a ton of picks (he had just one in his final two seasons combined after having six as a sophomore), but his ability to stick with receivers, which is supported now with a sub-4.4, is what teams will covet. Robinson is a different case than perhaps anyone in this draft. He has had to overcome a lot — he was arrested prior to attending FSU for a prank gone wrong with his friends — but character issues haven’t come up in the news with Robinson since he established himself in the NCAA. He has a very bad speech impediment that can be nearly entirely vocally crippling, yet his confidence in spite of the unfortunate stutter is admirable. Every draft has a few guys that deserve a round of applause that lasts outside the Radio City Music Hall when their names are called. Robinson is one of those players this year, and if his private workouts go as well as his Pro Day did, he may hear his name called a lot sooner." It Is What It Is What They’re Saying He might not be as bad a pick as 1st thought. He & Porter could be a tandem for years to come. |
Re: Patrick Robinson
he kinda looks like stephen jackson. maybe we can drop him off in st. louis and bring jax home?
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
You guys dont realize what just happend..did any of you listen to Payton on WWL earlier....Im all for signing Sharper back..but if we dont ..what weve all known all along..Jenkins to safety...now stop crying and look at all the advantages to this pic...will ya..
