Patrick Robinson
Your thoughts?
DB out of florida state ran a 4.38 40 at his pro day |
Re: Patrick Robinson
i do not agree......
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
40 inch vertical......2nd team all ACC this year
involved in some kind of scandal at florida state? |
Re: Patrick Robinson
Unless Robinson is going to play in the middle of the D line to stuff the run, this was a misfire. Not saying he won't be a good DB, but he's not what we needed most.
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
I'm okay with it. He's the best CB in the draft if he had the consistency. He needs a lot of coaching. But he's top 10 talent otherwise.
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
mike mayock talked up his footwork
said he has the best feet of any DB in the draft |
Re: Patrick Robinson
Guess Jenkins goes to safety
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
i need someone to talk me into this pick...help:confused:
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
I like it actually. Who's going to be able to pass on us now when they are trying to catch up to our offense now?
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
Bingo! Bye Bye Sharper. Hello Jenkins FS regime.

gives us health and lots of depth at DB allows us to move jenkins around gets fooled on double moves but should be alright considering how much we blitz and most teams wont have time to run double moves |
Re: Patrick Robinson
Did we forget we were signing players off the street as injuries piled up during our SB run? Our defense looked tremendously better with a set of healthy CB's. This is supposed to be a deep draft ... we can get help in the later rounds for the Dline and LB's.
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
I'm just confused with the players left on the board, we went with a CB. This move ensures Jenkins' move to FS... which kills two birds with one stone I guess filling that position and nickel. From what I've read, he's a shutdown corner who lacks physicality, but a player who's very strong for a corner. I'm sure with being coached by Greg Williams, we are confident that we can install that mentality into him. I liked what Gruden had to say about his selection and it made a lot of sense. Hope you become a star for us rook.

Re: Patrick Robinson
Either Sergio Kindle or Taylor Mays would have been better...s$@!, even Clausen or Colt would have had me more excited--don't like it
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
Boo, I don't like this pick at all.
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
i'm cool with this pick. we struggled the most when our corners were hurt last year, maybe this is just what we needed.
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
I also want to say that it wasnt Terrance Cody and that fat turd is nowhere close to getting drafted.
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
I think it's an OK pick. the Saints will get LB and/or DE later in the draft. Look for them to possibly trade up in the second round/or third round.
Remember, this is a deep draft, with first round talent well into the second round. They might even trade up to get Daryl Washington, the LB from TCU. He is not a pass rusher, and is too small to play the strong side, but flies to the ball. He is the fastest LB in this year's draft. Lets see what happens later. |

We won the Super Bowl! Another CB will help win another! Although I like Kindle.

Re: Patrick Robinson
Saints should have traded back and got a top second round pick to snag some real talent..
i think we did it wrong this year, but oh well.. I mean Kindle was sitting there for god sakes!.. ugh.. Go saints.. im going to watch the Superbowl all over again to take my mind off of the time i wasted waiting for a obscene pick. |
Re: Patrick Robinson
Chin up guy. Maybe we get him at #64
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
WTF, why not take kindle. Yes, we needed depth at corner, but damn. This doesn't help us stop the run. We're still screwed up the middle. Not happy at all with the pick!
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
I think they should have taken the best DE available....
Jerry Hughes would have served well if Colts didn't snag him right before. I wonder if they had him in their sights too? After picking Patrick Robinson, my wife's first comment was "he looks like a thug".... I hope she's wrong, haha! |
Re: Patrick Robinson
even though he is fast, solid corner, how do we not pick kindle? like someone please explain how we pass on the best lb in the draft? so dude from penn st in second? and what happens to malcom jenkins or sharper

whats it called? PATRICK ROBINSON you brought up terrence cody intentionally and it wasnt a subtle comment....it was an insult to him and trying to antagonize another poster on the board try and stay on topic and not act so stuck up all the time |

Re: Patrick Robinson
Waited all night for this pick! DAMN, i'm pissed. I hope he works out, but DAMNIT!
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
I think I would have preferred a LB or DT, but I'm OK with it. Can't ever have too many good DBs (as we saw with all the injuries last year).
I think Atlanta stole who we would have picked. @#%#@% I remember thinking that the Morstead pick last year was horrible. I was big time wrong, so I'm going to give the FO a pass that they know what they are doing here... |
Re: Patrick Robinson
Wanted Kindle, but more options at CB is fine too.
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
CB makes sense. 5'11" 195lbs is big for a CB. Williams will straighten him out. Remember, we were not the same when Porter and Greer went down. If Sharper comes back, we have 5 starting CBs.
With the #1 offense in the league, teams will be playing catch up. This allows us to play man other coverages. |
Re: Patrick Robinson
I never saw this coming. I've been screaming for a DT or OLBer and we took a corner in the first round. My first thought was will it be Jenkins or Young getting playing time at safety?
We should consider this an excellent chess piece for GW to play with. I guess the coaches have their eye on a later round DT or OLBer.......maybe there is a trade in the works to fill these spots. |
Re: Patrick Robinson
Well, although this isn't exactly how I pictured the draft would go (hoping Weatherspoon would drop to us or getting one of the TCU boys or Kindle) I'm not hating this pick. Patrick gives us depth at the cornerback position and allows us to move Malcolm anywhere we want if Darren doesn't resign. Let's just hope we can still get someone of talent tomorrow, hopefully someone like Navarro Bowman who is a first round talent but has a bad attitude. He is a linebacker coming out of Penn State so you know he'll produce.
Please God, don't let this pick bite us in the ass. |
Re: Patrick Robinson
I am not going to second guess the pick... History tells me Payton and company know what they are doing. They make great picks and got us a SB so until they return us to the days of the Aints I can't say anything bad about the pick.
I like the idea they are approaching this as teams will have to pass to beat us then lets load up with DB's they like. Go ahead put the ball in the air. |
Re: Patrick Robinson
Now trade Jammal Brown for an early 2nd and draft Washington.
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
I like his size and speed. I trust GW- he knows more than me
|
Re: Patrick Robinson
And here's to you, Mr. Robinson, Breesus loves you more than you will know (Wo, wo, wo) :-D
