At any rate, would a boss give you a bigger raise if you threatened not to come in or if you busted your butt? A story on that: About 7 years ago my boss railed on me in front of my coworkers for something I did not do. I'd been busting my butt for 3 years doing my job and a good portion of some other people's jobs too. I sat in my chair, and I took it, and when he left I got up, got some coffee, went outside and walked around the building...twice...then went back into his office and said, "I want a public apology AND I want a raise or I'm leaving...today." I got my apology and I got my raise. |

Re: Pierre Thomas holdout
It seems to me a contract in the neighborhood of 4 years @ $18 million would be about right here. They could negotiate guaranteed dollars vs incentives, and come to something mutually acceptable.
PT has proven himself to be a valuable player in the Saints' offensive scheme, and he looks like a better inside runner than Reggie Bush; but PT absolutely can not scare the daylights out of defenses, and cause other offensive players to be wide open to make big plays, like Reggie can. PT is replaceable; for what the Saints do on offense, Reggie Bush is not. So he is not going to sniff Reggie-type $$$$, either with the Saints or with any other team. |

I like PT. But he hasnt even had a 1000 yard season! He's a big part of our offense but he can be replaced.

Holding out is an option these guys have that most of us don't have, but we use other tactics too - at least some people do. Same same.
