Fujita's spot needed an upgrade. We have like 20 LB's on the roster...

Brown wasn't in the future plans and Charles Brown was drafted to eventually supplant Bushrod.

More youth/depth was added to the O and D lines.

We have the offense intact.

We resigned Sharper.

Our secondary is stronger.

Grant & McCray out - Brown & Wilkerson in.

Now, I still believe - as I think you do - that our D line needs more depth.

I'm trusting (given it's history) that our coaches have a plan to improve it.
I agree SF, we will be fine. Brown didnt play anyway and we still went all the way. Fujita was average and went to a team that overpaid. The only loss Im slightly worried about is McCray and Im sure the staff has a plan.
Robinson, Brown, Graham...Im already smelling improvment...

What's it going to take for some of you guys to stop doubting our organization?

amazing that our starting LT gets traded but its not as big an issue as a backup DE with limited playing time

you guys wonder why the media looks down on us as a team. its because we make stupid decisions like we've been doin this offseason

our team is very good. but its not getting better by subtracting players and the players we brought in arent improvements over the players we had last season

we drafted a LT that is a pass blocker ONLY.....he isnt very strong. we arent going to alternate LTs every play to make up for the loss of brown....we cant put in a rookie LT every time we need to pass and put in bushrod every time we need to run

i wasnt here when we lost faine....but goodwin is not the center we need. im tired of not being able to run up the middle because goodwin cant handle a NT

Fujita's spot needed an upgrade. We have like 20 LB's on the roster...
upgraded? by picking up who? we have a lot of LBs yes....but are they better than fujita? who can say

Brown wasn't in the future plans and Charles Brown was drafted to eventually supplant Bushrod.
it kinda looked like brown was in the future plans until the team didnt show him the respect he deserved.....they tendered him so he could play this season.....not so they could trade him

sweet....depth is great......now all we need is starters

Let's see here...

Bring in a top GM - check
Bring in a great head coach - check
Bring in a Pro Bowl QB - check
Draft quality starting players more often than not - check
Break records for wins, wins in a row, passes, yards, td's, etc... check
Bring in the top Def coordinator in the NFL - check
Completely turn a losing franchise around in three years - check
Win the franchises first ever superbowl - CHECK

What am I missing here?

Alex Brown is better than Grant. Wilkerson is a welcome addition.

I am - like you - concerned about our current depth on the D line.

Let's reserve judgement for the rookies until we see them play.

I said "eventually" supplant Bushrod.

lol funny guy. what happens when you trade away the better player for what the worse player was worth?

the positives are there....and we are definitly a good team. but have we gotten better since winning the championship? does the recent history we've had outshine the terrible history we have had as a team and an organization

how does lack of progress this offseason provide any source of hope for this season at all? im all for being optimistic when its the right time...ive defended a lot of players when nobody else would.....but is it worth being unrealistic?

Alex Brown is better than Grant.
in what way?

Time will tell. Look, we couldn't draft any of the stud LB or DE's we wanted - and I'm glad we passed on Kindle. But don't forget about the guys we have on the roster - they may surprise you!

What does anyone really 'deserve' in the NFL, anyway?? He played. He was payed. He couldn't play, he wanted more pay (and a long term deal) and the organization had other priorities...

Maybe he should've taken a page from Payton when it comes to sacrificing salary for the greater purpose.
