It has been forever since I last posted here, but feel compelled to now. I used to be a regular poster on this board about 2-3 years ago. Now those who were posting on this board long ago know that there are certain people who post for no reason other than to take the unpopular side, to cause discussion, to cause drama if you will. I remember back in the day a poster named \"gumbo\" or \"gumbeaux\" (not sure if it is the same gumbo that posts here) used to take the other side of almost every argument. Now it seems as though Billy Carpenter is taking his turn as devil\'s advocate. Is there anything wrong with that . . . no not really. In fact it makes things interesting on a web board. If we all agreed on everything then there really wouldn\'t be much discussion going on. With that said, those who chose to engage Billy Carpenter in these debates need to try your best to keep your emotions at a civilized level. Billy Carpenter is going to say things that will get under our skin, like in this post; however, that seems to be his purpose on his board. Just realize that, back up your arguments with facts and rational ideas, and let him try to defend his.

Now with that said:

Aaron Brooks\' development time is over. He has almost 3 seasons as a starter, has been in the league 5 years, and is in one of the most talented offenses at the skill positions in this league. He has regressed ever since being named starter. I have never heard him take blame for anything. He smiles when he screws up, when we are losing, when a loss knocks us out of the playoffs, when we lose to the worst team in the league, when we get whipped on national tv. Those of you who use the \"it\'s a defense mechanism\" excuse need to wake up. Yeah I bought that excuse for about a season but I have played on enough crappy losing teams to know what all the smiling is about . . . it\'s when someone doesn\'t care. Those of yall who want to defend him by posting his statistical numbers can throw that in the garbage. Yeah I bought into the numbers myself but after studying last season and this season, the only reason his numbers are good is because of the people that surround him. Will we win with Aaron Brooks, yeah he is good for between 6-9 wins in our offense depending on who our opponents are. Will he get us to the SuperBowl . . . NO! too inconsistent. Look at the past 4-5 SuperBowl QB\'s and you can see a pattern. No they may not be the most stellar QB\'s but the one thing all of them were . . . consistent. Brooks can\'t play consistent b/c he doesn\'t read the defense at the line, won\'t audible out, won\'t audible pass protection. I\'m not saying he can\'t read defenses at the line . . . I\'m saying he doesn\'t. As long as he does taht and if his accuracy problems continue he will never get us anywhere. A 9-7 record used to sneak you in the wild cards . . . now the way divisions are set up you will be lucky to get into the wild cards with a 10-6 record

I think it\'s time the Saints invest a high draft pick into a franchise QB. It\'s been a good 10 years or maybe more since we did that.

It would be different if you were funny, some here don’t like Billy, but at least he makes me laugh. You’re not even creative, it’s like reading the trash on the elementary school bathroom walls- lacks intelligence, personality, humor, and would only entertain the imbecilic. Aside from your comedy career, you’re nothing more than a cancer, malignant at that because you won’t go the **** away. Maybe that was a little harsh, perhaps you’re more like that crust in the corner of your eye. You wipe it away and are happy for the time being, only to find it right back in the same spot the next morning. I had the same user name. When they redid the board like 2 years ago i guess they deleted my account. I have been posting on www.neworleansprofootball.com lately. I used to come to this board all the time when i was 17-20 and I\'m 22 now so that would make like 2 years ago.
