Maybe Morten will resign he is only 50 and after if Archie isn't busy we can reel him back too. Hey maybe we can market our own sports drink we can call it Gerit-Ade, Prune will be our biggest seller. All kidding aside if Carney can get the kid back on track than so be it. Odd thing is that Coach Payton has the patience of a (well you know) with him. Get this Coach and Carney are the same age.

I think we just muddied the water. More pressure on the youngster...and when/if he misses, there will be added pressure on Carney. I think we would have been better just jacking him up in the back corner of the locker room.

This is a joke right? Am I the only one who remembers how bad Carney was the last time around?

More on the signing
The New Orleans Saints have signed 46-year old, and former Saints', kicker John Carney to a one yaer contract according to a league source. No financial terms were disclosed Tuesday afternoon when this news was revealed, but it is believed that they signed him to a veteran's minimum deal. There is also no word on the status of Garrett Hartley with the team even though it is believed he will stay on the roster. Both kickers were kept on through much of the 2009 season. Both kickers were on the team for most of the beginning of last year due to Hartley serving a four-game suspension to begin the season. Not long after his return, both he and Carney start competing more in practice where Hartley ultimately won the job for the final five games of the season and the playoffs. The weird thing about Hartley is I'm more confident with him on slightly longer kicks than I am the shorter ones. If that was a 35+ yard attempt we would have won

It's funny you said this, because I compared it to my pool game in another thread. The long, or two bank shots, I can make when I need too. But the straight in, by the hole shots, I will miss, because I consider them a gimme.
