Is it just me or...

Does anyone else think something may be wrong with Drew's shoulder. He hasn't shown any physical signs to make me think this but his accuracy at times hasn't been there and he is not making many throws deep and when he does they are not on the mark like last year. I'm wondering if that surgically repaired shoulder isn't bothering him and they just aren't saying since he obviously can still function at a level that is acceptable. Maybe i'm just being paranoid but something isn't right. Anyone else have any thoughts on this.

I've been seeing the same thing. Something is up with his accuracy. But also, the OLine isn't protecting at near the level that they did last season. Drew never got roughed up last year; this year he is getting rocked. Don't know.

You make a good point with the pressure. I have thought of that as well. I don't care who you are if you are pressured in the pocket it will affect your game. But I still think something is wrong. I hope I'm wrong about the shoulder.

he is having to dance around like I have never seen before. Our O line is giving him happy feet syndrome. Our receivers aren't getting great seperation either though.

I don't know what all the concern is over Drew's shoulder. He's completed almost 75% of his passes through the first four games. Take away several dropped passes, and his percentage would be around 80% or above. I think people are reading way too much into this about Drew. If you notice, secondaries are giving up the short passes in order to take away the big play. If the opportunity isn't there to go deep, Drew isn't going to take it. That's just a sign of being a smart QB, not because anything is wrong with his shoulder. Take last week for instance in the Falcons game. He threw one of the prettiest deep balls possible and hit Devery in stride. DH just didn't come down with it. I'm sure many of us are trying to figure out exactly what it is that is holding the Saints back from playing like they did last year. Could it be that teams have figured out Sean Payton's mad genius offense? Maybe. Could it be the dreaded Super Bowl hangover? Possibly. There are several factors that could come into play in why the Saints are struggling offensively, but I honestly don't think Drew's shoulder is one of the problems.

Our O isn't really struggling. We are moving the ball just not as good in the Red zone. We will get it cleaned up.

IMO, this year the running game has held us back (good effort today), TOO MANY TURNOVERS committed and not enough forced, and the pass blocking has not been as good.

I would throw in that we have little pass rush on D, but that is no different than last year...

Yeah but last year our blitz schemes were very creative, not so much yet this year. Sharper's absence may be causing that.

I don't know what the problem is but I do know that this team is talented as all hell. They are extremely well coached. They will get it together and then the league had better watch out again!

I think Drew Brees is a great quarterback, but we're used to seeing him just absolutely "on fire" 90% of the time- something seems to have doused the flames. I don't know what's going on, but I doubt that he's hurt- he doesn't show any signs of favoring the arm after throws or anything like that. I just think we're not clicking, and Drew is getting dispirited. I think that's the best case scenario at this point.
