\"So a strong finish (6-2, 7-1) a no playoff appearance means Haslet should be gone?\"
Yes, that\'s correct. No one doubts that Haslett\'s teams can play HALF a season. It\'s a FULL season that we\'re concerned with. If Haslett is allowed to stay I\'ll tell you exactly what will happen. Haslett will say that we\'re a few players away. A corner, a DT, and LB. We\'ll sign a corner that you never heard of before who was the nickel somewhere and claim that he is a shutdown corner and can be a star. We\'ll draft a LB b/c our young players are ready to come around. We\'ll sign a new left tackle - not b/c we need one, b/c that\'s what the Saints do in the off-season. He\'ll be worse than Roaf, Turley, and Gandy, but we\'ll pay him more than all three combined. Then, next season, Billy will predict that the Saints will be 14-2 (sorry B ), and Haslett will talk about how this is finally \"HIS\" team - those other ones weren\'t his. The Saints will STILL have loads of talent, underachieve one way or another, people on this board will find excuses as to why, and after an 8-8 finish Haslett will be allowed to stay b/c a) he won a playoff game for us sometime last decade, and b) we have POTENTIAL and poor Haslett and the Saints have just had bad breaks that apparently, no other team in the league expereiences. \"If you are going to base whether or not to fire coaches on winning and losing only, then you would be calling for Shanahan to be fired. Samething if you were a Dolphin fan when Jimmy Johnson was there. \" I\'ll tell you what, first, let\'s have Jimmy Boy win us a Super Bowl, THEN I\'ll cut him some slack. These are his coaches, his system, his players... have we been injured? Yeah, we have. We had what three starters out against Seattle - Howard, Mitchel, and Stallworth. With the way Stallworth was playing, him getting hurt helped b/c the ball had to go to Pathon. Who knows how Mitchel would have played. He could have been worse than T-buck. Injuries didn\'t cost us the Seattle game. They didn\'t cost us this last Panthers game, and they certainly didn\'t cost us the Indy or Titans game. When are you guys going to stop making excuses and start demanding results? [Edited on 29/10/2003 by WhoDat] |

It all depends. We\'d pass on an actual pile and just get a few scattered rocks that we\'d claim given enough time would turn into the best pile of rocks in the NFL.
