Panther Collapse?

It would not shock me if they played .500 ball the rest of the way. Carolina is one dimensional and they\'re not even trying to hide it. They are an injury or two away from a complete collapse, and regardless of what a handful of posters on this site might have us believe, their QB minus their running game doesn\'t equal much.

Panther Collapse?

We shall see. But if they go 4-4 in the second half of the season they\'ll still end up 10-6 and that is probably good enough for them to win the division. We would have to be 11-5, and that means 7-0 over the rest of the season for the Saints. Sorry, that ain\'t happenin\'. Even if they go 9-7 they could still take the division, b/c Tampa and the Saints may be in holes too deep to take it from them.

Panther Collapse?

Looking at the Panthers\' schedule brings me less optimism than I had earlier. They have 8 games left. 4 of those are against: Detroit, Washington, Arizona and Atlanta. Vick may be back for Atlanta so it\'s hard o say what will happen there, but they\'ll at least go 3-1 in these games (unless they truly do unravel.)

The other 4 games are: Dallas, Tampa Bay, NY Giants and Philadelphia. The Panthers COULD win all of these, but I\'ll just give them 2-2.

That would give them a record of 11-5. If we win out, we still have to settle for a wildcard.

I hope they don\'t do so this well, but the odds aren\'t in the Saints favor without a Panther collapse. We may, in fact, end up rooting for the Panthers in their final game against the Giants.
