Who does Brooks remind you of?
Question: Which current or former NFL quarterback does Aaron Brooks most resemble in his playing?
My answer is Brett Favre in his early days. I remember people talking about how much talent Favre had, how great his arm was and how well he could buy time with his feet. On the other hand, he was criticized for poor throwing technique (throwing off his back foot) and poor decisions (forcing throws into tight coverage and getting intercepted). The other thing about him (then AND now) is he obviously treats the game as a game and has a lot of fun on the field. Seems to me that AB has a lot in common with the younger Favre (though AB's decision-making has been much better this year than in the past). I've never liked Brooks much until this year, but I've got one foot on the bandwagon now. The biggest hole in my argument is that Favre had immediate and sustained success in terms of winning games and leading his team to the playoffs nearly every year. However, maybe we have reason to hope that Brooks will soon develop into a Favre-like fixture on this team. Hopefully it's just a matter of him settling into a playing style that is loose enough for him to perform but tight enough to allow the team to succeed. |

He reminds me a lot of Randal Cunningham. Tall, lanky, good arm, runs well, at his best improvising, but with a quicker release and not quite as big though.

Who does Brooks remind you of?
That article was written over one year ago, and was during the time of the season where the offense was clicking on all cylinders. Thought I would post that, for no other reason than to get some people riled up by the connotation :P
