this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; If Fox really believes he's on the way out then he may throw everything at us and try to finish strong because he's looking for his next coordinators job. I don't think they roll over and give us the game. ...

If Fox really believes he's on the way out then he may throw everything at us and try to finish strong because he's looking for his next coordinators job. I don't think they roll over and give us the game. If it were me I'd be kicking, clawing and scratching to do my best. It's an interview for next years team at this point.

So...... Either I was correct or Atlanta is a lot better than we think they are. Carolina laid down the first half... Actually gave them the ball. 107 Yards Passing? Negative 5 yards passing in the first half???? As I said... Do not count on Carolina doing anything to the Falcons but boosting their stats. Anyway... On to something more interesting. I am not sure I saw the same game that the analysts for nfl.com saw. "I do not remember this much action"....<----- Scratching head |

Im gonna be careful, and not assume we're going 13-3. To do that, we have to beat the Ravens in Baltimore, in the bad weather, vs. Ray Lewis and his parolees.
Then we have to beat the NFC's top team in their house. Mind you they're the top team, because we cant hit a 12 yard fieldgoal. Then we have to take care of business against the Buccaneers, and you just cant assume in the NFL. I tell you what, I'd be much less disappointed to go 13-3, and have to be a wildcard, than to actually have Atlanta blow it, and then us not capitalize. A lot of things can still happen, good and bad, and this is, at this point, a high wire act for us. But you gotta admit, this is fun. |

I think we will have little to play for Week 17. I think the Falcons probably beat Seattle and we should beat the Ravens and the Falcons. At that point we have the 5 seed wrapped up and any hope of the 1 seed resting on Carolina beating Atlanta in the Georgia dome.
Losing to Baltimore Sunday means the Saints need to win one of the last two to get the 5 seed. If Philly or NYG drop to 10-6 the Saints probably get the sixth seed even if they lose the next three. |

You know what ASSuME means right?
The way I see it is that Atlanta has got some work to do to win out. And if they don't, then the Saints has got some work to win out. We are clearly NOT in the driver's seat. Heck, I would love a 13-3 season (with no more injuries please). If it still means wild card then so be it. It is what it is. I remember when we got a wild card berth on 8-8 (Morten's twice taken FG against the Rams). The results in post season is what it is all at. |

Unfortunately I think you're right. Unless Atlanta falls apart, I doubt we'll get home field. Even if we do go in as a wild card, it doesn't mean we wont make. I certainly believe we can.

The Saints can win in Atlanta. Not really a huge deal.
I predict a Saints/Pats superbowl. |
