On the other hand, I was OK with Marty though I would have been fine with releasing him for somebody who can get us to the big game. Norv is a step backwards. Though I don't see Michael Turner being a mistake. It was either him or release LT. One team wasn't big enough for both of them and LT was in his primes at that time. Same way either Brees or Rivers had to go. As good as Brees is, you don't draft a Top 5 pick to ride the bench. Though I am angered with the current release of LT. Wish we had your coach. LOL! |
Bye Bye Norv! See Ya AJ!

I admit I'm biased because I'm a HUGE Shottenheimer fan, even though I probably still can't spell his name right. |

Coaching was the reason for their success. My Chargers were a mess and he got us to the playoffs for the first time in almost a decade. I think we would have had a Super Bowl title by now if we kept him. |

A lot of fans wanted Marty gone after that home playoff loss in 2006 BUT had they known that Norv would be the replacement, they would have spoke differently, and they do today. Though I like Marty, I would have been fine with releasing him for somebody capable of getting the Chargers to the Super Bowl and winning it. They didn't. And yes... every season I hear from Raiders fans "how many rings do you have?" I ask them "WHAT GOOD HAVE YOUR RINGS DONE FOR YOU LATELY?!!!" |
