No surprise... what did he do for the Redskins and Raiders? NOTHING!
And don't forget (I'm sure you haven't), nearly every expert on the planet agreed that the Chargers had more talent top to bottom than any other team in the entire NFL.

I admit I'm biased because I'm a HUGE Shottenheimer fan, even though I probably still can't spell his name right.

i'm glad your saying it strato. because thats the news i would have to tell bolt. the choke fact seems to bite the chargers everytime u think this is the year, i give up on them. blame aj , norm, the kicker or rivers it just does'nt come together.

Yup. That's why I don't make predictions anymore.

Though I feel good that next season we'll have Vincent Jackson the whole season and with the numbers Rivers puts up... that's got to take us further sometime.

Cowboys did it despite of Switzer, we can do it despite of Norv.

your right bolt about the predictions part. i never understood v.jackson reasoning for the holdout now hes really here for a year because who's going to give 2 #1s for him when they would'nt bite for a trade. one thing is he will be rich. or more richer.

I was very happy when Marty came here cause making bad teams good is his specialty.

Cleveland was a mess and he was one weird fumble away from getting them to the Super Bowl.

Kansas City was a mess and he got them to the playoffs. IMO they were not a good team either. Without Neil Smith and Derrik Thomas (bless his heart) they were terrible. Coaching was the reason for their success.

My Chargers were a mess and he got us to the playoffs for the first time in almost a decade. I think we would have had a Super Bowl title by now if we kept him.

Bye Bye Norv! See Ya AJ!

But Norv is not our Offensive Coordinator.

As Head Coach, he came to the Chargers at 58-82-1 in the regular season and 1-1 in post season. That is a horrible resume!

A lot of fans wanted Marty gone after that home playoff loss in 2006 BUT had they known that Norv would be the replacement, they would have spoke differently, and they do today.
Though I like Marty, I would have been fine with releasing him for somebody capable of getting the Chargers to the Super Bowl and winning it. They didn't.

And yes... every season I hear from Raiders fans "how many rings do you have?" I ask them "WHAT GOOD HAVE YOUR RINGS DONE FOR YOU LATELY?!!!"

Bye Bye Norv! See Ya AJ!

I wouldn't mind having him here as OC but as HC... forget it!

Though our Special Teams were awful last season, there were still several games we should have and could have won despite of them.
Before last season, we had one of the best Special Teams in the league for the last 4-6 years. Under the same ST coach too.

Hey strato,

I do have to admit that the Raiders were getting me concerned about this coming season but I think firing Cable is going to push them back again.

Best record they've had in 8 seasons and 5 coaches later. Got to love Al!!!

Yeah, I know you guys had problems when it came to field goal attempts but did you have problems with blocked punts and giving up too much on kick off returns?

As for our kicker... Kaeding is money in the regular season but horrible in the post season.
