The New Orleans Saints have signed free agent defensive tackle Shaun Rogers to a one-year deal, the team announced Tuesday.
Rogers' deal is worth $4 million, a league source told ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. Rogers, a former three-time Pro Bowl player, was cut on Feb. 9 after playing sparingly during the 2010 season due to ankle, hip and elbow injuries. He had been scheduled to make $5.5 million in 2011 with a $500,000 roster bonus. Saints sign Shaun Rogers; Hartley extension

I'm sure this will come with mixed emotions, but I like the kid. Glad to see him sticking around. |

i was thinking the same thing with paea. he has supposedly slipped down boards due to his knee injury. i dont think it would be a bad idea at all to draft him and let him learn the first few months of the season. DTs usually take a year or so to come up to speed anyway, it could be a long term solution to the DT problem. Maybe the front office is thinking that Shaun signing a one year contract could fill that space.

DT Stroud's signing with New England likely precipitated this.

Great move. We are finally fixing our weak link. I have a feeling the secondary is going to get a lot more picks this year. If there is one.
