Brooks and Saints lead the league in fumbles

This is just an excerpt the link above has the full article For Saints fans, it was an all-too-familiar Jekyll-and-Hyde performance by Brooks. In the game's first 28 minutes, he completed 12 of 15 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown. In the final 32 minutes, he was 8-for-15 for 56 yards and fumbled four times, losing three. "It's frustrating," Brooks said. "The first one slipped out of my hands. It's part of the game. The NFL has the new balls out there. We're not allowed to use our home balls. We have to use what's given to us. I'm not making excuses. The ball just slipped out of my hands. It happened twice this year where I had two receivers wide open. You can't think about it. You've got to play. I can't slow my game down and think about the football that might slip out of my hands. I'm playing football. I just make a conscious effort every time I go out there to hold on to it." Brooks' lost fumbles give him an NFL-high 10 on the season. The Saints, in turn, have lost 18 fumbles, the most in the league. "I don't have an answer for you," McCarthy said. "I can't explain it. It's a problem, and we've got to get it fixed."
