Sharper 50/50 to return
Free agent Darren Sharper estimates there is a "50-50" chance he will return to New Orleans for the 2011 season.
"I'd be riding a dead horse," said Sharper, "if I thought that the kid who is younger than me and came in and played well last year (Malcolm Jenkins) won't be the projected starter." Sharper's first choice is to find a starting job. If that offer is not forthcoming, he'd just assume return to the Saints as a reserve. I like that he respects Jenkins. I think im the only one who doesnt care if he returns. Good when healthy but sharted alot last year |

I would like him back for depth, but I think he will sign with another team.

we wouldn't have won some of those games without him to go 13-0 in our super bowl run season. I think without him last year is part of the reason we dropped 5 games.

He's has to make the team first. He'll be back.

There were some dead horse days last year. The mind was willing but the gitttyup just wasn't there. If he ever had to turn-and-go it was over. If his health and skill set allow him to make the team, beautiful. If he can't beat out the younger guys, he needs to go. ( and I still love him)

Only if someone had been listening to the games exclusively on the radio last year would they not be painfully aware that Sharper has really lost a step...love the guy but it's probably time to hang up the cleats.
