this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I call it a fantasic day I guess I just have a little higher standard for the assessment of fantastic. Don\'t mean to single a word out when there is plenty to agonize over today that had more to do ...

Quite possibly the greatest play in Saints history....
saint5221 -- I really don\'t know what else Brooks could have done. Given the circumstance that Brooks was in, I think he made great plays and decisions. He completed passes when they blitzed and threw the ball away when nothing was there. Today either Brooks had to complete passes or there was NOTHING there.
McCarthy\'s play calling absolutely sucked and put the offense in bad situations, time after time. Brooks bailed the offense out so many times after McCarthy kept running Deuce up the middlle for NO gain. Honestly, what else could Brooks have done? He completed 60% of his passes on one of the best defenses in the league. He also threw some great deep passes that were dropped. His stats were fantasitic but it goes way beyond stats today. He made great reads, good decisions, etc, etc.......... [Edited on 21/12/2003 by BillyC] |

Brooks played well enough for us to win the game. The offensive line could\'ve played better, and Deuce could\'ve held on to the ball.
Brooks was fine today. This game sucks bad enough as it is. Let\'s please not turn this into an Aaron Brooks thread. This week is gonna be hard enough as it is, |

Like I said the Brooks stuff is about semantics not worth commenting on any more.

Hey, BillyC...Why do you think McCarthy\'s playcalling is so bad? Not just this one game but more often than not? Could it be that the Saints\' playbook has had to be slimmed down to just a few plays so as to not complicate things for Brooks? Let\'s face it...this offense runs the same plays over and over. And AB runs into all sorts of trouble trying to call audibles. Not to mention reading defenses, blah, blah, blah.
When McCarthy was at Green Bay, that offense was never accused of simplicity so why is it that way here? Think about it... |

Ok, let me think about it. Should I discuss Aaron Brooks with a known Brooks basher that has never said anything positive about the guy? NO!!

Deuce McAllister-2nd year starter, Saints 16-15 with him starting. WOW, I\'m blown away!
Most of you are all over his nutz worshipping this guy when it could be shown by the same criteria Brooks bashers use that this guy has cost us a playoff spot. Yea, he\'s good. But most of you guys swear he\'s the greatest Saint EVER after only two good years. There are no winners on this team YET . EVERY PLAYER ON THIS TEAM IS A LOSER. If you insist on bashing Aaron Brooks then I feel you must also look at the ENTIRE team, because I think all 53 guys (plus all the injury fill-ins) had a hand in every loss. Fred Taylor owned Deuce McAllister today. |

Danno...that comment is completely ridiculous.
Deuce, running behind a lackluster o-line, was manhandled by a top 2 rushing defense. Taylor blasted apart a completely useless rush defense that my Grandma in her wheelchair could have got 100 yds on. Compare apples to apples. I know everyone is upset right now but that is ridiculous. |
