seraph33 -- How do you think Brooks is a PRO BOWL alternate this year?

33% of coaches, 33% of fans, and 33% of the media voted him in?

Other than the fumbling Brooks has had a Pro Bowl year.
Similarities between Brooks and Deuce...
1. Both put up very good stats this year.
2. Both are pro-bowlers.
3. Both have won games for us.
4. Both have lost games for us.
5. Both should be team leaders.
5. Both end the season as losers.

Differences in Brooks and Deuce...
1. Most Saints fans hate Brooks
2. Most Saints fan worship Deuce

IMO:
Brooks bashers have no ammo anymore. If this season wasn\'t a complete team failure, I don\'t know what is.
The only Bashers I give credit to now are the Haz Haters.
They have the most logical argument on the table.

Exactly!!

Deuce has a bad day running the ball and who\'s fault is that? The offensive line or ANYONE other than Deuce.

Brooks has a bad day and who\'s fault is that? Aaron Brooks and NO ONE else!!

Brooks has a good game and who get\'s the credit. Receivers, Deuce, offensive line, etc, etc,..

Ridiculos!!!!!!!

First off I am in no way bashing Brooks. Am I being critical? Yes. I am simply trying to point out that Deuce has produced at the appropriate level this year. Rating his performance relative to Brooks over the basis of one game is a little misleading. Through out the season the only thing that has been consistent on offense has been Deuce. AB has not thrown many ints at all. That is definately an improvement; however, he has replaced those turnovers with ones in another catagory. Doesn\'t that sorta negate the improvement if he has just turned his turnover output into a different catagory. Now ignoring the whole fumbling thing, the combination of the WR\'s and AB has led to a really inconsisent offense. At times this season both have been to blame. Yes our WR\'s really dropped the ball (literally) for us this year. Still so has AB. You simply don\'t know which AB will show up on Sunday. Maybe it will be the one who lights up the scoreboard. Maybe it will be the one who can\'t keep a drive alive more than 4 downs. Our running game produced at the level asked for at least 12 games this season. For the most part during those games our passing game was completely unreliable. Now we can look at AB\'s passing stats and they look nice; however, from watching the games this season I can tell you AB has not been consistent. Our WR\'s have not been consistent. I can tell you also that AB\'s numbers should be alot more impressive than what he has. Now I again I am not saying that AB should be cut but i just don\'t think he is consistent enough to make us a steady winner. Now AB isn\'t the only one who gets the blame. As a team our Saints\' effort sometimes was just pathetic. I really think Haslett has lost his grip on this team. No one seems to care anymore. I am also open to the possibility that perhaps AB has been hampered by McCarthy but I don\'t really know. It is possible. As whole something has been wrong with this team for 3 seasons now. Something has to change and slowly I\'m starting to think we really need to break up this team and try to find a new chemisty. I hope whatever is addressed this offseason works. If we can win with Haslet, McCarthy, Venturi, Loomis, our WR\'s, our Defense, or Aaron Brooks then great. I am just ready for our team to win and live up to potential. It seems harder to accept losing when you know your team is capable of better. Losing wasn\'t this bad under Ditka cus we know we sucked and every win we put up was overachieving. Anyway I\'m done rambling.

What a brilliant statement! That\'s like saying, \"Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?\"

Three things I\'ve said that were complimentary of Aaron Brooks: 1) He throws a good long ball. 2) He scrambles well. 3) He\'s finally stopped throwing off his back foot.

all things considered, Brooks just isn\'t all that. When he becomes a free agent (or is cut), watch how few teams flock after him.

BTW...for the umpteenth time: Statistically, Brooks is right up there with many of the best except for one: Wins. The Saints are .500 with him as the starter. That\'s the fact and if you think that\'s acceptable, then your defense of him is more about him than it is about this team. It\'s easy to just look at the stats and proclaim \"Brooks did everything to help this team win.\" But when you count fumbles, untimely interceptions (most are!), bad throws, misreads, clock mismanagement, etc. Brooks is average...in other words, .500. No better, no worse and that\'s what I\'ve been saying all along.

Brooks will never guide a team to the Super Bowl...not this team or any team. I know it...you refuse to admit it. I watch the games. You rely on stats. The funny thing about stats is, used properly, they can prove the earth is flat. Well, it ain\'t. Wins is what counts. Any QB in the NFL can stand in a pocket for five seconds and complete a pass, even AB. What happens when the pocket breaks down separates the men from the boys. I\'ll gladly take an average QB that can find a way to win than one who excels statistically but can\'t come out victorious.

You, on the other hand, are apparently satisfied to defend a lost cause...
